Pitch To Song Plugger. Contemporary Country. Female Group. Runaway June. Veteran music publisher with multiple current cuts on major artists is seeking songs for Quartz Hill recording artist Runaway June....

    #2328- Runaway June

Runaway June. Veteran music publisher with multiple current cuts on major artists is seeking songs for Quartz Hill recording artist Runaway June. This is an all-female group made up of singers Stevie Woodward, Natalie Stovall, and Jennifer Wayne.

Seeking: Uptempo, something that is a show opener and the subject needs to be more in line with TODAY'S market, which would attract a younger listener. Nothing dated. Natalie plays the fiddle, so it can be heavily fiddle-based but not Bluegrass. Obviously, songs that allow them to harmonize too. Before pitching, please listen to their sound and style including how they're presently evolving. No cut dates yet.

In general, here is what this pitch guest is seeking in every song that is pitched to them:
-- Fresh ideas and interesting titles; lead directly to the title in a strong way to make the title stand out.
-- Get your first verse set up much quicker to grab the listener within the first 30 seconds from when it starts. Most of the time, I don’t even get to the second verse if the first verse does not draw me in. Your song may not need a pre-chorus. Try to get to the point and make it pay off quickly.
-- Before pitching, please do your research. Really listen to the artist and see what kind of songs they like to cut. Figure out what they like, how they sing, and what songs they lean toward.
-- Please read the description/brief and submit only what we request. For example, if we're looking for uptempo, only send uptempo. If we mention "no drinking songs", then please don't send a drinking song.
-- Read a lot for new ideas and stories. For Country songs, understand the writing of great writers like Shane McAnally, Michael Hardy, Don Schlitz, Bobby Braddock, Lori McKenna.

Pitch Follow-up: If this guest expresses interest in your song, they will pitch it with the understanding that you will be asked to sign a single song agreement with the publishing company if there is interest in the song.

#2327- Girl Named Tom (Quick Deadline)

Girl Named Tom. Quick Deadline! A Street Pitch guest and music publisher who has already generated income for SongU members is listening to songs for Republic Records recording artist Girl Named Tom. I will need to hear your songs ASAP and will be listening daily, as this group is going into the studio in just two weeks to record 4 songs. Before pitching, PLEASE look them up and check out their music; they are beyond amazing.

About Siblings, Becca and her brothers Caleb and Josh have what I refer to as "blood harmony," in which I believe the beauty of the sound is spiritual in nature and can only happen when siblings or family members sing together. Girl Named Tom made history as the first group ever to win The Voice. During Season 21, they landed 4 songs concurrently on the iTunes Top 10 charts, with 2 songs reaching #1.

Seeking: Pitch songs that lend themselves to 3-part harmony. I am not looking for Christian songs, but the lyrics can have a spiritual element. I need something commercial / radio-friendly. Their lead vocals are female. Specifically mentioned by their team is to think about songs with "a definitive slant in the direction of Fleetwood Mac." Other notable information given as references are "Crosby, Stills & Nash" and "For King And Country."

Style/Genres:They can fit into a lot of spaces. They have an Americana thing going on. Maybe Country, Pop. Check out their music before pitching.

Pitch Follow-up: If this guest expresses interest in your song, you will be asked to sign a single song agreement, executable only with a major cut.

    #2326- Various Country Gospel Artists

Various Country Gospel Artists. A Street Pitch guest and veteran music publisher who has generated income for SongU members is listening for great "Country Gospel" songs to pitch directly to artists. Before pitching, please read the entire description and pitch appropriately:

Style: This genre is actually true Country music, but with a lyric that leans Gospel. This isn't Southern Gospel (Quartet harmony Gospel) nor Contemporary Christian, which leans toward Pop for the most part.

Seeking: Songs can be any tempo, but I prefer mids and ups. Songs don't have to be totally about God, Jesus, prayer, etc., but can reference them. The lyric must begin positive and stay positive. In other words, nobody can die in the song. For example, do not submit themes such as "When I was a kid, Grandpa used to share his life wisdom with me. But, now that he's gone, I still live by that wisdom." Nor themes such as "Our little Susie died, but we know she is with Jesus now." To better understand this genre, reference songs like "JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL," or "HIT THE GROUND PRAYING."

Pitch Follow-up: If this guest expresses interest in your song, you will be asked to sign a single song agreement, executable only with a major cut.

    #2325- Various Bluegrass Artists

Various Bluegrass Artists. A Street Pitch guest and veteran music publisher who has generated income for SongU members is listening for great Bluegrass songs to pitch directly to artists. Before pitching, please read the entire description and pitch appropriately:

Seeking For my needs, songs can be any tempo, but uptempo "barnburners" are requested by artists most often. Writers should keep in mind that when it comes to this genre, songs need to be authentic and heartfelt. Story songs work really well. Stay away from cute, fluffy lyrics or novelty songs. Also, stay away from stereotypes and the same old cliches about hillbillies, moonshine stills, etc. Bluegrass artists are phenomenal musicians and singers. Don't be afraid to expand beyond three chords or use fresh, dynamic melodies. The following are references for Bluegrass STYLES I can use:

Bass pattern and Tempo. For this genre, listen to the bass pattern. The underlying bass pattern is what typically makes the Bluegrass sound. Reference "KENTUCKY BORDERLINE" by Rhonda Vincent; "UNCLE PEN" by Bill Monroe or Ricky Skaggs; "LAST TRAIN TO CLARKSVILLE" by The Grascals.

Story Songs. Reference: "DEAR SISTER" by Claire Lynch; "BED BY THE WINDOW" by James King; "BITTERWEEDS" by Larry Sparks.

Pitch Follow-up: If this guest expresses interest in your song, you will be asked to sign a single song agreement, executable only with a major cut.

(BTS signup end date: 6/24). A Street Pitch guest and music publisher who has already generated income for SongU members is listening to songs for Starstruck artist Emily Ann Roberts.

Seeking Traditional Country songs with a '90s vibe. Mid and up-tempo songs are preferred, but if you’ve got an absolutely phenomenal ballad, I’d like to hear it. I also want to hear story songs and need great radio single material. Think The Chicks (formerly The Dixie Chicks) of the 1990s. Don't pitch songs that parallel The Chicks' "Gaslighter" album. Female vocal demos only.

About: Emily Ann earned a coveted spot on NBC's The Voice, season 9, as a member of Team Blake. Emily Ann is also a member of CMT's "2024 Next Women Of Country." She has racked up over 35 million streams and will be on tour with Jamey Johnson beginning in July.

    #2315- William Beckmann

William Beckmann. Veteran music publisher with multiple current cuts on major artists is seeking songs for Warner Brothers recording artist William Beckmann. William is a young twenty year old with a mature voice. He grew up listening to traditional Country and admires the artists that "built Nashville into what it is today." What to submit: His team says they would like to have something positive, fun, uptempo. Or, something like Smoke Rings in the Dark ( Gary Allen). It could even be something like Dwight Yoakam, but the melody would need to be more modern. You may even consider submitting something with a Latino vibe and uptempo. Even though he appreciates "old school," not looking for old school lyrics. Male vocal demos. Google him and his song Bourbon Whiskey for a sense of his vocal quality and vibe. They will cut some more tracks in July.

    #2308- Christmas and Holiday Songs

Christmas and Holiday Songs for Sync. EXTENDED! Keep them coming! A Street Pitch guest is seeking songs for sync licensing. Please read the entire brief before submitting and pitch appropriately. Yes, it's time to break out the jingle bells and your coolest Christmas and holiday songs for the upcoming season. Imagine retail shopping, festive parties, family and friend gatherings.

Seeking: All vibes: uptempo fun and happy, warm and fuzzy, romantic and playful. We'd also like to have options that are not too Christmas-y but rather evoke the feelings of the season - togetherness, giving, peace, love, winter, childlike wonder, nostalgia, etc. - songs that pull at the heartstrings.

Genres: pop, acoustic pop, indie pop, soul/r&b, singer-songwriter, jazz, big band.

Feel: All tempos, though mid to uptempo are heavily needed. Male or female vocals.

Songwriters, important: Songs submitted have to be cleared for sync licensing as per the following guidelines (no exceptions):
    - You must own both your master (recordings) and 100% of your synchronization (publishing). If you do not...
    - Then, all master owners, co-writer(s) or co-publisher(s), must sign our licensing agreement as well.
    - Songs must be CLEARED: meaning if you have paid musicians and/or singers including background vocalists, you must have a signed 'work for hire' OR RELEASE form for each person involved in making your recording so that they have no further claim to the song. Please note that the producer who produced your recording should be able to help you acquire a work-for-hire agreement or release; however, in many cases, there may be a fee involved, particularly if the recording was purchased as a demo. No writers signed with major publishing companies with major administration deals.
    - Submissions must be MASTER/BROADCAST QUALITY recordings. If we express interest, you will need to supply us with a mastered copy of both the song AND an instrumental track.
Pitch Follow-Up: If this guest expresses interest in your song you will be asked to sign an agreement for this project only (non-exclusive); with a 50%/50% split for both the master/sync licenses. Will not take publishing of the song so the publisher/writers will get all the performance income. If there is no upfront licensing fee, the 'guest' will take 50% of the publishing income for this placement only. The 'guest' will not take ownership of the copyright.

Anytime your song is licensed, you will receive 50% of any and all royalties associated with the re-title that's registered in your P.R.O by the company and 100% of the writers' share of any P.R.O. performance royalties collected.

Follow-up: Only if I express interest in your song through SongU, you'll need to send me your P.R.O. IPI/CAE#. And if the song is a vocal, I'll also need the instrumental without any vocals as an mp3.

#1991- Non-Exclusive Direct Licensing for European Placements

Updated 10/6/2023: Music Publisher who will be acting in the capacity of publishing administrator only. Seeking Broadcast Quality original songs and tracks:

    a) Clean, positive, happy, fun, lighthearted, uplifting family-oriented songs (nothing sad or too slow) of any genre including instrumentals to be played on "overhead radio" in malls, stores, airports, convention centers and restaurants.

    b) Also, songs with genres and styles typically played in bars, nightclubs, lounges, casinos, cruise ships etc. Nothing too loud too fast or too rock, lyrics must be clean, no swearing or foul language, vocals must be English language.

Please read TERMS before submitting: "If I express interest in your song, I would be administering the publishing only. If your song is co-written all writers must agree to these terms: You will keep your publishing and your master rights. Your songs will not be distributed for sync opportunities or distributed for any internet royalties, compilation CD's, Spotify etc. These opportunities are non-exclusive DIRECT LICENSING which means royalties will be paid directly to my account in a folder in your name and you will receive 50% of the direct licensing royalties. There are NO performance royalties involved with this type of licensing (to clarify: P.R.O's do not monitor "overhead radio" and it does not generate performance income). Note however, that because I personally co-publish with this direct licensing company, if your song is accepted the title will automatically be listed in my P.R.O. but it will be RE-TITLED for this specific license. The re-title will also appear in your P.R.O., as a listing of the company I co-pub with. It will NOT interfere with your ORIGINAL copyright/title, publishing and mastering. I can delete the song from this platform at your request at any time. But the re-title will continue to be listed as a formality.

Follow-up: Only if I express interest in your song, you'll need to send me your P.R.O. IPI/CAE#. And if the song is a vocal, I'll also need the instrumental without any vocals as an mp3.
