    #2328- Runaway June

Runaway June. Veteran music publisher with multiple current cuts on major artists is seeking songs for Quartz Hill recording artist Runaway June. This is an all-female group made up of singers Stevie Woodward, Natalie Stovall, and Jennifer Wayne.

Seeking: Uptempo, something that is a show opener and the subject needs to be more in line with TODAY'S market, which would attract a younger listener. Nothing dated. Natalie plays the fiddle, so it can be heavily fiddle-based but not Bluegrass. Obviously, songs that allow them to harmonize too. Before pitching, please listen to their sound and style including how they're presently evolving. No cut dates yet.

In general, here is what this pitch guest is seeking in every song that is pitched to them:
-- Fresh ideas and interesting titles; lead directly to the title in a strong way to make the title stand out.
-- Get your first verse set up much quicker to grab the listener within the first 30 seconds from when it starts. Most of the time, I don’t even get to the second verse if the first verse does not draw me in. Your song may not need a pre-chorus. Try to get to the point and make it pay off quickly.
-- Before pitching, please do your research. Really listen to the artist and see what kind of songs they like to cut. Figure out what they like, how they sing, and what songs they lean toward.
-- Please read the description/brief and submit only what we request. For example, if we're looking for uptempo, only send uptempo. If we mention "no drinking songs", then please don't send a drinking song.
-- Read a lot for new ideas and stories. For Country songs, understand the writing of great writers like Shane McAnally, Michael Hardy, Don Schlitz, Bobby Braddock, Lori McKenna.

Pitch Follow-up: If this guest expresses interest in your song, they will pitch it with the understanding that you will be asked to sign a single song agreement with the publishing company if there is interest in the song.

Emily Ann Roberts. Extended! A Street Pitch guest and music publisher who has already generated income for SongU members is listening to songs for Starstruck artist Emily Ann Roberts.

Seeking Traditional Country songs with a '90s vibe. Up-tempo songs are preferred, but if you've got an absolutely phenomenal ballad, I'd like to hear it. I also want to hear story songs and need great radio single material. Think The Chicks (formerly The Dixie Chicks) of the 1990s. Don't pitch songs that parallel The Chicks' "Gaslighter" album. Female vocal demos only.

About: Emily Ann earned a coveted spot on NBC's The Voice, season 9, as a member of Team Blake. Emily Ann is also a member of CMT's "2024 Next Women Of Country." She has racked up over 35 million streams and will be on tour with Jamey Johnson beginning in July.

    #2318- Heather Morris

Heather Morris. One of our talented indie artist/songwriter members, Heather Morris, is working on her own album project and is asking fellow SongU members to pitch her songs for it if they'd like. She says, "As soon as I get about about 6 songs I'll add them to my current 3 so far)." What to Submit: Overall, I'm looking for any country song with substance and a clean message. Update 7/1/2024: Traditional but current would be great. Miranda Lambert's "House that Built Me" is kind of the style because it's not old school but it's not the new country either. Thanks! Also, I like inspirational songs (e.g. "Three Wooden Crosses," "Long Black Train," "When God Paints"). I would like a few love songs just because I have none! I'm not afraid of ballads either.
Find out more about Heather and listen to her sound here: https://www.reverbnation.com/HeatherDMorris/songsHeather and https://www.songu.com/members/HeatherDMorris/ . In your notes, you can let her know if you are interested in co-writing, since she is open to co-writers that already have good title or ideas and like her style of writing.

If your song is co-written, all writers must agree to these terms: You keep your publishing and master rights. All writers must agree to the 50/50 split of mechanical royalties.

Follow-up: Only if I express interest in your song, you'll need to send me your P.R.O. IPI/CAE#. And if the song is a vocal, I'll also need the instrumental track without any vocals as an MP3.

#1991- Non-Exclusive Direct Licensing for European Placements

Updated 10/6/2023: Music Publisher who will be acting in the capacity of publishing administrator only. Seeking Broadcast Quality original songs and tracks:

    a) Clean, positive, happy, fun, lighthearted, uplifting family-oriented songs (nothing sad or too slow) of any genre including instrumentals to be played on "overhead radio" in malls, stores, airports, convention centers and restaurants.

    b) Also, songs with genres and styles typically played in bars, nightclubs, lounges, casinos, cruise ships etc. Nothing too loud too fast or too rock, lyrics must be clean, no swearing or foul language, vocals must be English language.

Please read TERMS before submitting: "If I express interest in your song, I would be administering the publishing only. If your song is co-written all writers must agree to these terms: You will keep your publishing and your master rights. Your songs will not be distributed for sync opportunities or distributed for any internet royalties, compilation CD's, Spotify etc. These opportunities are non-exclusive DIRECT LICENSING which means royalties will be paid directly to my account in a folder in your name and you will receive 50% of the direct licensing royalties. There are NO performance royalties involved with this type of licensing (to clarify: P.R.O's do not monitor "overhead radio" and it does not generate performance income). Note however, that because I personally co-publish with this direct licensing company, if your song is accepted the title will automatically be listed in my P.R.O. but it will be RE-TITLED for this specific license. The re-title will also appear in your P.R.O., as a listing of the company I co-pub with. It will NOT interfere with your ORIGINAL copyright/title, publishing and mastering. I can delete the song from this platform at your request at any time. But the re-title will continue to be listed as a formality.

Follow-up: Only if I express interest in your song, you'll need to send me your P.R.O. IPI/CAE#. And if the song is a vocal, I'll also need the instrumental without any vocals as an mp3.
