    Backstory:
It was my birthday and I always do a bit of reflection. Just seems like so many things are fleeting these days. So I think of this as reflective and empowering!

    Lyrics:

I Only Get This One Amy Clay Verse 1 When August afternoons hung hazy in the sky We were runnin’ after dark chasin’ fireflies When wakin’ up to snow meant a little more sleep ‘Till I heard that plow rumblin’ up the street Ohhh ohhhh I remember those days Verse 2 When Fridays were parking lots and bleachers in the cold Pizza at the local place before they closed Pancakes at the counter, talkin’ ’bout the night before And all the backroads we were dyin’ to explore Ohhh ohhhh I remember those days Chorus 1 I’ve been knocked down and Misunderstood Reached heights I never thought I could Clouds roll in, the rain comes and the sky gives way to sun I remember those days, but I’m not done ‘Cause I only get this one Instrumental Break (over the verse) Verse 3 Sharin’ an apartment and workin’ for the rent Every dollar earned we already spent When twenty-nine was old enough to have life figured out And forty felt too far to think about Ohhh ohhhh I remember those days Chorus 2 I’ve been knocked down and Misunderstood Reached heights I never thought I could Ready for plenty more trips around the sun I remember those days, but I’m not done ‘Cause I only get this one Bridge No tellin’ just what’s comin’ ‘round the bend So I’m soakin’ up the bright side from now ‘till the end Not ready to call it quits – no I’ve still got miles and miles to go…. Final Chorus I’ve been knocked down and Misunderstood Reached heights I never thought I could Sittin’ with my face turned up toward the sun I remember those days, but I’m not done ‘Cause I only get this one I remember those days, but I’m not done ‘Cause I only get this one
