    Backstory:
We were asked to write a sad song and Doug came up with a beautiful lyric. This song is a reflection at year's end and how fleeting life can be. The story is shown through the eyes of someone who has lost his/her life long love. We have both a female and male version.

    Lyrics:

One More Year [A] I remember every New Year’s Eve, when midnight rolled arounD We’d hold our glasses high and cheer, as the second-hand ticked down We’d laugh about the months gone by, as lovers do, And I’d thank the stars for giving me, THAT one more year with you. [A] I’d often marvel, at this life that came our way. Could we seize this time forever, [build intensity] not let it slip away? THEN as fireworks lit the sky To usher in the new. I’d celebrate a brand new gift: ONE MORE YEAR with you. [Bridge] A calendar’s a whole lot more Than a String of months and years. It embraces all the ups and downs, The laughter and the tears. [A] So now I’ve come to say farewell. These flowers in my hand Another cold December day, Trying to understand. Not sure how I’ll get by this time, Not sure how I’ll get through. God, what I would give right now for ONE MORE YEAR with you. God, what I would give right now JUST ONE MORE YEAR with you. [Tag] Oh, I remember every New Year’s Eve When midnight ROLLS around.
