    Backstory:
Lyrics by Clare Steffen & Music, Vocals & Production by John Murr. We are currently working on adding slightly more production to the song. The newer version with have tighter verses, and a more catchy chorus. We are considering a title change to "Some Days Will Be Long," or "Days Will Be Long." I have sent the edits to my co-writer, and am just waiting for him to send over the revised version of the song. I wouldn't normally submit an incomplete song to a pitch but the deadline is today and I didn't want to miss the opportunity, if I could possibly get the song submitted for consideration. Sorry.

    Lyrics:

New Verson: Verse Dad always told me family comes first Words he'd say as he went off to work He truly was the salt of the earth Sweat pouring over his dirty shirt Verse He'd smile as he kissed my mom She'd smile back, handed him his lunch A brown bag with a line from a song Notes of hope from the home front Chorus Workin' hard from when the sun comes up Hurry home when the sun goes down Dad was right, some days are long Love helps me to carry on When those days are long Verse We always felt that our life was good Had what we needed more or less Fond memories from my childhood Looking back I feel we were blessed Prechorus Memories live in my heart Mom and dad gave me a great start Chorus Workin' hard from when the sun comes up Hurry home when the sun goes down Dad was right, some days are long Love helps me to carry on When those days are long Outro Dad was right, some days are long Love helps me to carry on When those days are long Older Version Verse Dad always told me family comes first Words he'd say as he went off to work When I was young felt he was cursed Sweat pour over his dirty shirt Verse He'd smile as he kissed my mom She'd smile back as he handed him his lunch A brown bag with a line from the book of psalms Note of love to lift him up in a crunch Chorus Workin' hard when the sun comes up Till the sun goes down Hopin' with a little luck We'll be living on the right side of town Workin' Hard, days are long Days are long Daddy always told me Son, days will be long Verse We always felt that our life was good Had what we needed more or less Fond memories from my childhood Looking back I feel we were blessed Prechorus Memories live in my heart Mom and dad gave me a great start Chorus Workin' hard when the sun comes up Till the sun goes down Hopin' with a little luck We'll be living on the right side of town Workin' Hard, days are long Days are long Daddy always told me Son, days will be long Outro Dad was right, days are long Love helps me to carry on When those days are long
