    Backstory:
I read the story of five boys from Waterloo, Iowa who joined the Navi in WWII provided they could serve together and the Navy granted their wish. All five brothers perished when a Japanese torpedo hit the USS Juneau killing all five of the brothers.

    Lyrics:

THE FIGHTING SULLIVAN BOYS Five strapping brothers devoted to each other Irish to their core Joined the U.S. Navy wanted to serve bravely During the second World War Left the Waterloo cornfields behind paid them no mind Wanted to make Tom and Alleta proud They loved God and country wanted to remain free And stand above the crowd Growing up together joined as one forever Couldn't bear to be apart They asked to bear the battle never feared getting rattled Hand in hand heart to heart Sailors serving on the Juneau little did they know As they headed out to stormy seas Bounded for Guadacanal with lifted morale Ready to make history ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL TOGETHER WAS THEIR CHOICE THE THIRTEENTH OF NOVEMBER WE'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE FIGHTING SULLIVAN BOYS Early in the morning without any warning God came calling on November 13th 42 A silent Japanese torpedo with a warhead in tow Almost broke the ship in two Four gone in an instant, off in a distance One thrown overboard In the fog of war the ship headed to shore But sunk on its way to port Eight terrifying days and nights, some brutal last rights There wasn't much left behind Eleven men from near seven hundred, while their families wondered Is all crewman would find Five brothers died together, in war torn weather Just as they lived their lives Now the USS Sullivan sails the seven seas, keeping the country at ease And we remember them with pride CHORUS
