    Backstory:
Purple Dancer was written in the aftermath of the tragic terror attack at the Nova Festival on October 7, 2023. What began as a celebration of music under the Negev desert sky turned into a day of unimaginable loss. Dancers and partygoers were brutally murdered, some were kidnapped, and many remain in captivity. Some survivors have since joined the fight to protect Israel, now caught in a war no one could have anticipated.
The Purple Dancer is not just one person. They represent everyone—a child, a soldier, a dancer—reflecting the many faces of those victimized by wars that spare no one. In a "primal and biblical land," the "Purple Beret" becomes a symbol of resilience, beauty, and the fragility of life on the edge of war and peace.
On the first anniversary of the worst massacre to ever occur at a music festival, this song honors the dancers and their undeniable bravery, pays tribute to those who are gone, and calls for the return of those still missing. It conveys the hope that, one day, our world may be whole again.

    Lyrics:

Dancing boots in the scorch of a primal and biblical land Where the martyrs are born with a torch that is burning their hands All the dancers will rise with the sun from a desert of ash Cause the Purple Beret is a flower that’s called to the march Purple dancer where are you? The music waits till I dance with you Purple dancer where’d you go? Since you’ve been gone, my whole world’s on hold Here’s a child, there’s a child, they’re somebody’s innocent child Ancient secrets, invoke you, command you to keep them alive You’re a soldier, a dancer, a father, a mother, a child Come right back, and dry my eyes Repeat Chorus Dance with you Dance with you Dance with you Repeat Chorus Purple dancer, purple dancer Purple dancer Purple dancer, where are you?
