    Backstory:
Started writing this as a jingle for Nationwide but then I decided to make a full length song out of it.

    Lyrics:

Verse: I can spot it before I pull into the yard of the home where my parents still live That dollhouse Dad built which played a big part in me making a lot of new friends  And that weathered old swing hanging from the porch where I'd drift back and forth in the sun It creaks a bit now but it's still secure as the day when it was first hung  Pre Chorus: The feelings I get approaching these steps Remind me of being a kid again Chorus: When I walk thru that door at once I'm transformed Into that wide eyed little girl that I was before  Playing make-up and dress up like a fairy princess Feels good to stay here and wake up in my old childhood bed  Verse: How many friends and kin have crossed that welcome mat lying outside the front door After all these years it's still in tact and justifiably worn Upstairs on the walls are reminders of all the artwork I did as a kid And a picture of me missing two front teeth that I wish Mom would've kept hid  Pre Chorus: The feelings I get approaching these steps Remind me of being a kid again Chorus: When I walk thru that door at once I'm transformed Into that wide eyed little girl that I was before  Playing make-up and dress up like a fairy princess Feels good to stay here and wake up In my old childhood bed  Bridge: Every fixture holds a memory in the history of this house for me Chorus: When I walk thru that door at once I transform Into that wide eyed little girl that I was before  Playing make-up and dress up like a fairy princess Feels good to stay here and wake up In my old childhood bed  Copyright 2022 by: Tina Rivera
