Backstory:

Peter Bliss had the line "I finally understand" running through his mind when we sat down to write and he was hearing that line sung the way it is on the demo - with a power ballad/rock feel. We fleshed out a full song that day but later that night, as I read over it, I felt that it didn't make sense. Wasn't clear what she "didn't understand." Worked on rewriting parts of the lyrics and sent them to Peter and he liked them so we recorded two versions. This is what he refers to as the "country" one. Brooke Moriber on vocals.
