i was drawn into a poetry contest entitled "Where do all the sad songs go?" and it got me wondering....                                                                             

Lyrics:

                                                  
a lost love, staring into the abyss
what might have been
oh that last kiss...

a passing, you look up at the skies
seeing when you were together
and the sunshine in their eyes...

what happens to the sad songs
where do they go, after they start
they go to the harbour of wrongs
to lay forever in your heart

time flowing on at a faster pace
life ageing and slowing down, and
the mirror doesn't recognise this face...

and when you carry this weight
trying to put the burden down
before you're done and it's too late...

what happens to the sad songs

once they are sealed with a tear
in the place where sad can reside
tunes of harmony you may hear
