    Backstory:
I wrote the lyric a few years ago and always thought that it had potential. Recently working with Alan Mueller on another song, he had written some music that didn't necessarily fit what we were actually working on. The more I heard the music, I started thinking that it would fit for Southern Moonshine. I was right, as the music was indeed a perfect fit for Southern Moonshine. A song about traveling, playing gigs or maybe it would fit for anyone whose job takes them away from loved ones. I think it has the sound of a Marshall Tucker band song, and I'm happy with that!

"There’s a full moon in the sky, I’m going home my oh my Teary eyes love the glow, feel the warmth in my soul got a good woman who waits for me, the road in the moonlight is all I see
take me to my family place got no time to waste, Southern Moonshine set me free"

V 1 I’m a working man whose job is done, working hard I’m on the run My only light is by the Full moon, I’m so glad that I’ll be home soon Load em up, let’s hit the road I can’t wait a minute more, when it was quittin’ time I hit the door Lead me on to my hometown, going south is where I’m bound Chorus There’s a full moon in the sky, I’m going home my oh my Teary eyes love the glow, feel the warmth in my soul got a good woman who waits for me, the road in the moonlight is all I see take me to my family place Got no time to waste, Southern Moonshine set me free V 2 My life spent working a bit too hard, it takes me away a bit too far Moon up high on a lonely road, I’m going home that’s all I know A weary mind, with scattered thoughts Counted down the days gone by, now I’m leaving this place behind This old moon he knows the way, my dreams of home I will obey Chorus There’s a full moon in the sky, I’m going home my oh my Teary eyes love the glow, feel the warmth in my soul got a good woman who waits for me, the road in the moonlight is all I see take me to my family place Got no time to waste, Southern Moonshine set me free Bridge I talk to myself out loud, away from her I feel so down I cry to the moon like a friend, don’t let me down I can’t stop, I know that porch light is on When I see that glimmer, I know that I’m finally be home Chorus There’s a full moon in the sky, I’m going home my oh my Teary eyes love the glow, feel the warmth in my soul got a good woman who waits for me, the road in the moonlight is all I see take me to my family place Got no time to waste, Southern Moonshine set me free
