Backstory:
The idea for this song came from the Oak Ridge Boys pitch opportunity in April. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to make the deadline on that one but I decided to go ahead and write a Mama song anyway for next time.

Title: Mama Say a Little Prayer
Lyric Sample:
Writers: Michael Nichols/Albert Compton
Verse 1:
Mama you were always there for me
The best advice I always got from you
Well I met this gal down in Tennessee
Long story short she got the best of me
Chorus:
Oh Mama won't you say a little prayer for me
I'm settin on this old bar stool can’t you see
Searchin my mind and drinkin Jim Beam
But you know I wasn't raised that way
Oh Mama, say a little prayer for me
Mmmm-mm, One little prayer today
Verse 2:
Mama I can't get her off of my mind
How can I tell if this is real or am I blind
Hope you can help me to find the truth
I'm just not sure how I should choose
Chorus:
Oh Mama won't you say a little prayer for me
I'm settin on this old bar stool can’t you see
Searchin my mind and drinkin Jim Beam
But you know I wasn't raised that way
Oh Mama, say a little prayer for me
Mmmm-mm, One little prayer today
Bridge:
I feel helpless without your advice
Don’t want this choice to ruin my life
One mistake in love can hurt our family
Please Mama, I could use some clarity
Chorus:
Outtro:
Oh Mama won’t you pray one more time for me
