    Backstory:
    True story in my life.

    Lyrics:

(Verse) Mother had a pistol when she walked up to the door. Through the other woman’s window, saw dad with her on the floor. Mom dropped her head and turned away, the sky rained with her tears. I’ve only seen Dad once since then, it’s been a lot of years. Our dad moved somewhere far away, left us with just Mom. I don’t know how she did it all, How could she be so strong? She raised two hard boys by herself; we were an awesome chore. But she stayed to be our mother, chose… to be much more. (Chorus) We didn’t have a daddy, but we didn’t miss a thing. We didn’t turn out badly, ‘Cause mom…..taught us ev’rything. (Verse) Mom made so little money that sometimes we almost starved. Worked three jobs to get us by when times got rocky hard. But we didn’t do without things dads teach their sons to do. Mom always found time for us and taught us all she knew. Mom taught us how to catch fish and she taught us how to swim. She taught us things our dad should have, with no help from him. Mom even taught us how to shoot, yes she could use a gun. So glad she didn’t that dark night, or we, might not, have mom. (Repeat Chorus twice) (Tag) Mom……..taught us everything.
