Backstory:
having a discussion on faith with my (35 year old) daughter, and she asked me when did I really appreciate it. It kicked off reflections of my life and it hit me that all the things I have learned, all the heartaches, all the fun times, the mistakes the successes were all visited upon the mirror.
Plus the fact that statistically, in only 25 generations, everyone has 67 million ancestors, it seemed that they could all be looking back at you through the mirror. How much faith does one need?
Whatever would you do without it?
Lyrics:
if I ever lost my faith in you
I just don’t know what I’d do
whenever I look you are there
and no other can compare
in darkness you comfort me
and when away from the crowd
I can share with you my glee
be annoyed or be proud
if I ever lost my faith in you
I just don’t know what I’d do
whenever I look you are there
and no other can compare
you counsel me every day
should I go this or that way
and ask you what to believe
rights or wrongs to perceive
if I ever lost my faith in you
I just don’t know what I’d do
whenever I look you are there
and no other can compare
I can connect
I can reflect
I can be direct
I can respect
I look, I see, I think, I am
no why, what, how logjam
I say, I laugh, I sing a song
in the mirror I belong
if I ever lost my faith in you
I just don’t know what I’d do
whenever I look you are there
and no other can compare
