Backstory:

I was in the hospital in October of '20 with a ruptured appendix. During my 4 day stay, I basically wrote this as a thank you to God for His wondrous care and love.

V1     One dark day I found myself
          In the valley of the shadow of death
          A cruel disease, the devil’s breath
          But today I stand amazed 
          Had no strength, no way to fight
          I cried out day and night
          God turned darkness into light

           For His children, those He loves
           His mercy given to all of us
           Knowing this, I stand amazed

           Pardoned sins like vanished scars
