    Backstory:
A friend of mine drives long haulers across country to provide for his live in girlfriend and her 2 daughters. I guess she got lonely because he's on the road so much she started fooling around with one her ex-boyfriends. Started using all the money he sent home to dress up and hang out instead of paying the bills.

    Lyrics:

I was out in my truck building a life for you Calling from the road to say good night to you I thought you were holding it down while I was gone Dodging seedy truck stops doing right by you Supporting you and the kids is what I was tryna do But now I see I may have stayed out too long Cause you're back with your ex And I must confess Should've been at home standing guard You're back with your ex And I must admit To driving you back into his arms Asking the good Lord to bless me to Be able to afford what was best for you I had to get out there and make a fast buck I'm not the type to wear a suit Or choke in a tie on a daily commute So I got my CDL and drove off in my truck But you're back with your ex And I must confess Should've been at home standing guard You're back with your ex And I must admit To driving you back into his arms Life on the road was so hard for me You and the kids being so far from me But it gave me something to look forward to Those two little girls brought out the father in me They may not have been mine but they were a part of me And I love them just as much as you do But you're back with your ex And I must confess Should've been at home standing guard You're back with your ex And I must admit To driving you back into his arms Yes you're back with your ex I just have to accept That's where your heart's been all along You're back with your ex And I'll always regret Driving you back into his arms
