Backstory:
The french title, “Noel d’Amour”, is in memory of my paternal grandmother, who was of Acadian French descent. She was a wonderful lady, whose skills in the kitchen were legendary. Skills that were so enjoyed by all of her family, not only at Christmas-time, but all of the time!

(music and lyrics by Dan O'Brien – © Dec. 22, 2014)
1)
May your heart be filled with joy on Christmas,
That special time of year,
As you give your gifts of love this Christmas
To all who you hold dear,
For it happened long ago, one Christmas
When Mary's Baby Boy was born,
And the perfect Gift of Love
Came to us from up above
On that first, blessed Christmas morn.
2)
A radiant star shone oh so bright that Christmas,
To guide shepherds on their way,
To a stable in the town of Bethlehem,
Where the Infant Jesus lay,
Choirs of angels sang sweet melodies,
And kings travelled from afar,
Bringing precious gifts to the newborn Babe,
As they followed the wondrous star.
Chorus
If you find yourself this Christmas
Wondering what it's all about,
Let the smiles of joy on little children
Banish all your doubt,
For love's the very soul of Christmas,
It's why the carolers sing,
And presents are placed around the tree,
It's the Birthday of a King.
