    Backstory:
This is a song about addiction. How it is devastating not only to the person struggling with it but also how it effects the people around them. The title is a metaphor for those not truly touched by it when they hear that someone loses their life from addiction. It is almost as when we drive past a bad accident and only for a moment a brief emotion is felt seeing the aftermath of people finishing up the clean up.

    Lyrics:

Wreckage From The Road (David Nicastro) In the dark and quite times that I spent with you Said that I understood but never really knew The pain hurt so deep you felt it nick the bone And the only thing worse was feeling so alone You know that we all thought you were moving way too fast Was just a matter of time because it couldn't last CHORUS A Mona Lisa smile hid a heart that was made of gold From the depths of the darkness the devil reached up for your soul Just another lost life and a story that will never be told As they clear the wreckage from the road Now I'm left with a void when I speak your name Even the city skyline doesn't seem the same Was there something else that I could have done When your demons from the shadows couldn't be outrun They grabbed and gripped so tight it left marks on your skin Got caught up in a battle you were never gonna win CHORUS A Mona Lisa smile hid a heart that was made of gold From the depths of the darkness the devil reached up for your soul Just another lost life and a story that will never be told As they clear the wreckage from the road David Nicastro Copyright 2018 17 High Meadows Drive Mullica Hill, NJ 08062 (856) 206 7191 nickastro@yahoo.com
