I wrote this song for my wife as she died from cancer.

How Can I Say Goodbye

Verse 1: 	It’s been your lifetime since, yet seems like just yesterday.
		One summer’s day we met, burning hearts carried us away.
		We grew into best friends, we gave wedding rings, took vows.
                Made it through some hard times, there were times, we wondered how.

Build 1:		Built a life together, hand-in-hand down each step of our road,
                        Been a wondrous journey, watching each other grow old.	
                        But the beauty of a rainbow fades, it can never last,
                        We always knew our golden moment, would also pass. (then…)

Chorus 1:		How can I say goodbye, to my ev’rything?
                        How can I let go, of all our hopes and dreams?
                        How can I stand behind? see my angel fly…

Verse 2: 	Time is a rule of life, we could only hope to bend.
		We wanted so much more, we asked God for time He’d lend.
	        But what we want for us, doesn’t always fit His plan.
	        We pray for God’s strength, to accept what we can’t understand.

Build 2:	When we see the guiding light of hope move to the distance.
		Darkness fills the space behind; truth devours all resistance.
	        Like reflections on water turn to ripples, with a breeze;
                the winds of time change all we love, into memories. (Now…)
