Lyrics:
Just Make Christmas Last One More Day
Verse 1 The snow is glistening,
I want you to listen
to the cool chilly winter breeze.
Sparkling snowflakes
fall as the daybreaks,
from the heavens on the evergreens.
It’s time to ring a ling and jingle around,
sleigh riding around the town,
silver bells singing and people bringing
happy smiles to those all around.
Chorus Well Christmas time is here again
so wonderful I want it to stay,
oh dear Santa, oh please oh can ya
just make Christmas last one more day.
Verse 2 Well it’s time to go shopping and window hopping
buying everything you see with delight.
Pretty soon you notice the money
in your pocketbook is all out of sight.
Dolls, teddy bears, and choo choo trains,
jacks, balls, candy canes.
oh what fun it is to run
carrying gifts skipping down the lane.
Chorus
Verse 3 The children are nestled fast asleep in their beds,
nutcracker suites dancing around in their heads;
dreaming of St. Nicholas, his elves and eight reindeer
how excited they will be when they’re here.
Suddenly they hear footprints on the roof
and a jolly merry “ho, ho, ho, ho,
it’s time to visit the home of Johhny and Bridget,
Catherine and Mary Jo.”
Chorus
Verse 4 Santa climbed down the chimney
and filled the stockings
stuffing them from head to toe.
Lots of toys he left under the tree.
He winked his eye,
then up the chimney he rose.
The kids shouted, “Wait Mr. Clause
can you come back down
we got to ask you an important question.
We just want to find out more about you,
and if we can just make one suggestion.
Chorus Christmas time is here again
so wonderful we want it to stay,
oh dear Santa, oh please oh can ya
just make Christmas last one more day.”
