    Backstory:
    I wrote this for an Alabama pitch fifteen years ago - I just saw them in concert a couple weeks ago (Less Jeff...RIP) and they spent a lot of time talking patriotism and respecting the flag and even had an opening video presentation that ended with the Star Spangled Banner. So I was reminded of this song and feel like it would suit them both thematically and musically even though the lyrics on the second verse are dated.
