Backstory:
I've been really touched by friends, family, celebrities that have struggled with depression. I know it's not necessarily the best topic to right/sing about but maybe a known artist would grab this tune and use it to highlight the disease.
Lyrics:
That Kind Of Lonely
(Phillip Sandifer, 2015)
I walked the highway between Lockhart and Austin
Slept in a field as the rain washed me clean
Days without voices, nights of wrong choices
Chasing away those on whom I might lean
It’s not a quiet, but it’s a silence
It’s not a road, but it’s an escape
Have you ever been that kind of lonely
Have you ever felt that kind of pain
Would you ever go to the edge of your conscience
Just so you might find some undisturbed space
That kind of lonely
I try to reach, for a rope to grab hold of
But I shake in the dark, and I’m numb to the touch
It’s not a sin, but it’s a problem
It’s not a weight, but it drags me down
Chorus:
Bridge:
That kind of lonely, it is a sinking
depression that's only…misunderstood
Chorus:
