Backstory:
This song is dedicated to all the fools like I used to be who drank too much before they ever got to the bar, and ended up making memories they wish everyone would forget. It's really a humorous anti-drinking song.
Lyrics:
VERSE 1:
She was a raven-haired woman
With a half-crooked eye
Long skinny legs
And a broken-toothed smile
But she had a way of flirting
Make you lose your mind
And her looks sure improved
As time rolled by
Chorus 1:
After one drink
She started lookin' fine
After two drinks
I wished that she were mine
After three drinks
I was asking her for a kiss
It's easy to see
Alcohol and me… don't mix
VERSE 2:
She had over-sized breasts
Like in a magazine
And I must confess
They were pretty things
She flashed them once
And I fell off my stool
It was then that I knew
What I wanted to do
Chorus 2:
After four drinks
I promised her my heart
After five drinks
I swore we'd never part
After six drinks
She looked like a real princess (pronounced princsis)
I have to believe
Alcohol and me... don't mix
Bridge:
Maybe I'm allergic to the stuff
All I know is when I drink
One is too, too much...cause..
Chorus 3:
After seven drinks
I feel no pain
After eight drinks
I don't know my name
After nine drinks
I'm half out of my wits
Now wouldn't you agree
That alcohol and me… don't mix
VERSE 3:
She was a-leaning on me
I was a-leaning on her
What happened after that
Is still just a blur
I’ve heard all the rumors
They have to be lies
But there’s no way to know
What really happened that night
Chorus 4:
After all those drinks
I’m not to blame
After all those drinks
I should be ashamed
After that many drinks
I know what you think
And I have to agree
Alcohol and me... don’t mix
