I met him on an elevator
He asked if he could call me later
He took me to a restaurant 
And ordered us a bottle of wine
We dined by candlelight
Then he asked me to stay the night

     And he said trust me
     But I didn't , 
     I only did it 
     Because I wanted it.
     He said trust me
     Ya know I didn't,

We dated for about 2 years
I distrusted all my tears 
I bought me a wedding gown
We got married in the neon town
And on our wedding day
Ya know he had this to say

     He said trust me
     But I didn't

Two kid and two years later
He met her on an elevator
He dined her by candlelight 
But the flame didn't burn so bright
He was home by 10:00 p.m.
And  asked me if I trusted him

     And I said trust you?
