    Backstory:
I guess I'm most proud of this song and I didn't even write it! It was written for me by my son, Patrick after I returned from my first trip to Nashville in Aug 2007. I think he really nailed it. How good can it get for a dad?

    Lyrics:

THESE ARE MY SONGS V1 He worked hard his whole life, puttin' food on the table He'd dust off his old guitar, and play when he was able He had a dream that slipped away, when he was still young And through the years he heard the call, of a song left unsung But then he made a choice one day, said I'll make it somehow, make it some way Before another year rolls by, I'm gonna do this thing before I die CHORUS I'm headed to Tennessee Where my destiny awaits A straight line to the music city To be with my soul mates I will take my prayers and take my wife To where my heart belongs I will tell them all - this is my life And THESE ARE MY SONGS V2 On the plane ride into Nashville, it was a beautiful sight to see He said I'll do this for my mother, my father and my brother and me And he forgot every course from all the country music schools And he knocked on all the doors, and he broke all the rules But they treated him like gold, and he treated them the same He said they may or may not like my stuff, but at least they'll know my name CHORUS I'm here in Tennessee The workin' world can wait In the heart of Music City With all of my soul mates With an answered prayer and a loving wife It's where my heart belongs I'm havin' the time of my life And THESE ARE MY SONGS BRIDGE And it's never too late, you're never too old You gotta make your own fate, and listen to your soul Repeat 2nd Chorus TAG This is the time of my life And THESE ARE MY SONGS © 2007 Patrick T.
