    Backstory:
The title is pretty explanatory. "Living For Today" is a song about getting everything out of life now, not looking back or forward but staying in the present.

    Lyrics:

[Verse 1] When I was a young man, half a dollar in my jeans I thought about the years to come And what it all might mean Then I got a little older With a lot more bills to pay And thought about the years gone by And regrets along the way [Chorus] But now I'M LIVING FOR TODAY Not the future, not the past Don't want to miss those shooting stars That come and go so fast. Too many warm embraces missed, Too many kisses left un-kissed No Sense in looking back Or dwelling on the past I'M LIVING FOR TODAY [Verse 2] A brand new world's unfolding Right before my eyes, Each time I watch a bird take flight; Hear a newborn baby’s sigh. Wipe a teardrop from my lover’s cheek, Or hold my aging father's hand. These moments rise and then they're gone Like waves upon the sand. [Chorus] So now I'M LIVING FOR TODAY Not the future, not the past Don't want to miss those shooting stars That come and go so fast. Too many warm embraces missed, Too many kisses left un-kissed No Sense in looking back Or dwelling on the past I'M LIVING FOR TODAY Bridge: It doesn't really matter, how many years have passed Just dare to greet each sunrise As if it were your last. [Chorus] So now I'M LIVING FOR TODAY Not the future, not the past Don't want to miss those shooting stars That come and go so fast. Too many warm embraces missed, Too many kisses left un-kissed I greet each sunrise now As if it were my last I'M LIVING FOR TODAY I greet each sunrise now As if it were my last I’m Living For Today
