Backstory:
Dan had this hook, Invincible, and played a lot of the song when we got together that day to write. We talked about it some and decided to finish it together.
Lyrics:
Invincible
John Cirillo (ASCAP)/Dan O’Rourke (BMI)
We call ‘em the good old days
When we ran free and wild cross the borderland
And that long lost place
Is now an 8 X 10 on the dresser stand
And I remember when
Chorus:
When we used to drive fast
And we would love as though it would last
We thought we knew it all
And we could fly like we never would fall
Before we got burned and our lessons were learned
In the days too young to see
When we were invincible
And I don’t feel sad
Cuz those memories warm me on a winter’s night
All of the love that was had
Was really wrong but never really right
But oh I never asked why
Bridge:
Though I’m older now I still know how to cross that line
Just with a cautious mind
When I couldn’t die
I won’t forget
