    Backstory:
I had this idea for a song with the hook Chasing Down The Storm. Sam came up with the melody and this is what we created.

    Lyrics:

Chasing Down the Storm John Cirillo (ASCAP) IPI# 334682653 Sam Gyllenhaal (BMI) IPI#550162327 It’s a half past a little too late, I’m hitting the door I’d try not to hurt you, but I’d wind up hurting you more I got demons in my back pocket dying to be set free St Christopher’s long since given up on me Dark clouds are blowing east So east is where I’m bound Chorus: There’s a lonely road I’m gonna run It’s the only road I know Where I’m going there ain’t no sun Old friend thunder’s gonna roll And lightening, sweet Jesus Strikes where every sin is born But I always had a taste For chasing down the storm You see, I’m a hurricane ready to blow When I touch down, there’s no safe place to go I don’t trust blue skies cuz they don’t stay blue for long I’m just nothing but bad news born to be moving on Dark clouds are blowing east So east is where I’m bound Bridge: Next time it rains, take a look around It might just be me rolling into town © 2015 john.cirillo@gmail.com/831.359.0161
