Backstory:
The title literally means “You are a dawn-bird” and the writing was finished at dawn! How coincidental! The song uses an early morning ‘raga’ (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raga). If there is any parallel to Indian ‘ragas’ in western music, it would be the various Roman ‘modes’ (Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian, Locrian, and Ionian) where scales are formed using specific notes picked from the entire range of pitches, the stark difference being that ‘ragas’ typically use different notes in the upwards and downwards motions making them more complex than western modes or scales.
A combination of words plugged into melody and melody placed on words was used to create this song, which is about deeply devoted love. It is replete with similes/metaphors. It starts by describing the lover as a bird (metaphor) who woke ‘me’ up at dawn with a sweet melody and made my dream come true by making its way into my heart! Love filled me in like a bone-dry river fills up with tide (simile)! You are my light that effaced the darkness in me (metaphor), your sweet touch made my pent-up emotions flow like a waterfall (simile)! My locked heart opened up (metaphor) when I looked into your eyes! You encapsulated me by blooming like a red rose (simile)! I drowned in love (metaphor), and that made my life worth living!

Lyrics:
TUMI BHORER PAAKHI [MY BIRD AT DAWN]
(Gautam Banerjee, Swagata “Ban” Banerjee)
[Chorus 1]
YOU WOKE ME UP LIKE A BIRD AT DAWN
I LOST MYSELF IN YOUR MELODY
YOU MADE MY DREAM COME TRUE
AS YOU MADE YOUR WAY INTO MY HEART
YOU MADE YOUR WAY INTO MY HEART
YOU WOKE ME UP LIKE A BIRD AT DAWN
[Verse 1]
I WAS EMPTY INSIDE
YOU POURED YOUR LOVE IN
LIKE TIDE IN A BONE-DRY RIVER
YOU FILLED ME TO THE BRIM
[Chorus 2]
EFFACING THE DARKNESS OF THE NIGHT
YOU BROUGHT COLORS IN MY LIFE
YOU UNLOCKED THE DOOR OF MY MIND
WHEN I JUST LOOKED INTO YOUR EYES
WHEN I LOOKED INTO YOUR EYES
YOU WOKE ME UP LIKE A BIRD AT DAWN
[Verse 2]
MY LIFE BECAME WORTH LIVING
WITH YOU AS MY COMPANION
MY PENT-UP FEELINGS FOUND HOPE
AND BEGAN TO FLOW IN TORRENTS
[Chorus 3]
YOU WRAPPED ME WITH DEEP EMOTION
I DROWNED MYSELF IN YOUR LOVE
YOU BLOOMED LIKE A RED ROSE BLOSSOM
AND THUS FULLY ENCHANTED ME
YOU FULLY ENCHANTED ME
YOU WOKE ME UP LIKE A BIRD AT DAWN
--- End ---
