Backstory:

This was written as a prayer by and for the persecuted Christians in the Middle East.  It requires the big sound and driving rhythm of CCM music.  The mp3 does not do justice to it, but the listener may still get the idea.

Save us, God, we run to You for refuge
Til the days of destruction pass by.
We seek our shelter in the safety of Your wings;
In the shadow of the Cross we cry:

     oh light the sky with rays of glory;
     Let the nations know You are God.
     Wake the world with truth and justice
     So ev'ryone will worship You as Lord.

our enemies hunt us, like lions for prey;
our protectors, paralyzed, all keep away.
Struck down and helpless while holding to the truth; our only hope is trust in You.

our hearts are set to praise You, Lord,
our hymns of joy prepared.
