It was the backside of the Great Depression; March of 1937
When she looked into his eyes and said, “I do”
Three babies and a few years later, they headed out for somethin’ greater
Eighty level acres with a view
Strong as any oak tree; the backbone of her family

Was to take care of her children and her man
A zest for life, workin’ there beside him
Plantin’ seeds of love and kindness on that land
