NO HOME LEFT

Plays: 2
Backstory
I wrote the lyrics and melody for this song and ran my worktape through Suno to generate the demo.
Lyrics
No Home Left
(Melyssa Corrigan)

The front door opens
I hear my name and
I know that voice means, you’re gone again
An’ I twirl on eggshells as I pretend
We ain’t headin’ for the end

[Pre Chorus]
Please don't make me leave you, I have loved you all along
But I was built too soft to be this strong

[Chorus]
There's no home left in this house
There's no laughter in the air
Bottle tucked behind the couch
Find 'em hiding everywhere
I know you need me, it's what keeps me here
But, baby, I’m bleeding out
Oooh, there's no home left in this house

[Verse 2]
You’re full of magic, but you don’t know it
I’ve tried to tell you, tried to show it
Tried to love you, tried to sew the
Hole that’s swallowing your soul up

[Pre Chorus]
Ain't no way to reach a man in prison with his pain
And I’ve run out of ways to break the chains

[Chorus]
There's no home left in this house,
There's no laughter in the air
Bottle tucked behind the couch
Find 'em hiding everywhere
I know you need me, it’s what keeps me here
But, baby, I’m bleeding out
Oooh, there's no home left in this house

[Bridge]
I pray that one day you will see
You deserve to be set free

[Chorus]
There's no home left in this house,
There's no laughter in the air
Bottle tucked behind the couch
Find 'em hiding everywhere
You say you need me , please don't leave me, God,
Forgive me I’m bleeding out
Oooh, there's no home left in this house
No, there 's no home left in this house

THE WAY YOU'D WANT ME TO

Lyrics
The Way You'd Want Me To - UPDATED
(Melyssa Corrigan, Aron Rosing)

V1
Hi Daddy, it’s me
How are things in Tennessee?
Yes, I’m fine, don’t you worry
It ain’t nothing
Well, really, it’s someone
And he’s got me all undone
And I’m thinking he’s the one
Ain’t that something?

PRE CH1
He asks about my dreams
Wants to help me see them through
And he makes me laugh out loud
Somehow even when I’m blue

CH1
And I’m wondering
If I can bring him home?
I thought since you’re my hero
You should be the first to know
He might not be the kind of guy
You pictured by my side
And if I’m being honest
Well, neither did I

But you can’t change
What a heart is gonna do
And he makes me feel
The way you’d want me to

V2
Daddy, here’s the thing
I know what you’re gonna think
He ain’t quite the cowboy king
You thought I’d find
He never learned to fish
But he says he's always wished
That his own dad would’ve lived
To teach him sometime
CH2

Bridge:
He ain’t rough around the edges
Like the boys I’ve brought home before
And when I tell him that I love him
He says, girl, I love you more

CH3

CAN'T LOVE YOU FOR TOO LONG

Plays: 11
Backstory
This song was born from another that Dana Pagane & I were working on. The first was a more playful, flirty idea she brought to the table. This spawned off of that one for me and I shared the melody I was hearing in my head and the lyrics with both Dana and Mark Burch. Once agreed upon, Mark went ahead and created/produced the music for the demo. We realized after the fact that a male version could easily exist with the tweak of a few words. I've included those below the initial lyrics but we are open to discuss ideas should a male artist be interested in recording it. I am singing on this recording.
Lyrics
Can’t Love You For Too Long

V1
Lie down boy
Right next to me
No where else
I'd rather be
Then here with you
Between these sheets
Wrap me up
And set me free

CH
I’m all yours take me in
Cut me loose from where I’ve been
Love me like I’m all you see
I’ll love you like you’re all I need
And in the morning when you’re looking
And you come find me gone
Know I love you when I love you
I just can’t love you for too long

V2
I don’t want
To wonder why
You don’t pick up
The phone one night
Worry that
Your truths are lies
Lose myself
Again this time

CH REPEAT

BRIDGE
I don’t need your
Open heart or caring eyes
I don’t need your
Pick me up on Sunday drives
After all the heartbrea
All the scars and shattered lives
I do not need nothin’
But your arms round me tonight

CH REPEAT

OUT
Know I love you when I love you
I just can’t love you for too long

LIVIN' GONE ASTRAY

Plays: 5
Backstory
I initially wrote the lyrics to this for a Tanya Tucker pitch. Brought them to Dan Harrison & Hayley Giovinazzo and they offered some great input and we tweaked accordingly. Dan & Hayley solidified the melody and then they recorded the demo. Dan produced it. Hayley on vocals.
Lyrics
Livin’ Gone Astray

V1
The gates are finally open
The road is turning right
Been praying to the stars above
To point me towards the light

The climb’s been unforgiving
Crawled up and tumbled down
Busted knees and dusty dreams
And cracks left in my crown

PRE (4 5)
In all that getting lost I’ve found

CHORUS
There are so many shes
That have been me along the way
I’m making’ peace with each
Kissing their cheeks, offering grace
Wrapping them in kindness
And removing all their shame
Dreamers don’t reach dreams without some livin’ gone astray

I wasn’t made for mainstream
It wasn’t made for me
Some are fine to stay fenced in
And some are born to run free

Been singing like I’ve lived a life
Since I was just thirteen (open to an alternate line here - was written with a specific artist in mind)
Now turning round it all turned out
Just how it’s supposed to be

REPEAT CHORUS

BRIDGE
I’ve loved and I have lost
Sunk my sorrows, paid the cost
I’m only human after all
And I’m still here, after all

CHORUS
Of those wandering she’s
That have been me along the way
I’m makin’ peace with each
Kissin their cheeks, offering grace
Wrapping them in kindness
And removing all their shame
Dreamers don’t reach dreams
Without some livin’ gone astray
Dreamers don’t reach dreams
Without some livin’ gone astray

Lyrics
Homicidal

(Melyssa Corrigan, Rick Amburgey, Dana Pagane)

[Verse 1]
My bed is full of rescue dogs
I cry when I hear George Strait songs
I'll be the first one in your drive
When you need some light in the dark of night
But Jesus please forgive the thoughts I think
On days when I am hanging on the brink

[CH]
Sometimes the devil's behind this smile
A sure shot with my Ruger rifle
Know it's against the Holy Bible
But once in a while I feel homicidal

[Verse 2]
Cut me off on a bad day
Say I said things I don't say
Waitress flirting with my man
Guess she don't know who I am

[Pre]
Jesus , please forgive the thoughts I think
On days when I am hanging on the brink

[CH]
Sometimes the devil's behind this smile
A sure shot with my Ruger rifle
Know it's against the Holy Bible
But once in a while I feel homicidal

[Bridge]
Most would say I've done no wrong
Can only take this shit so long

[CH]
Sometimes the devil's behind this smile
A sure shot with my Ruger rifle
Know it's against the Holy Bible
But once in a while I feel homicidal

[Instrumental]

[CH]
Sometimes the devil's behind this smile
A sure shot with my Ruger rifle
Know it's against the Holy Bible
But once in a while I feel homicidal
Yeah, once in a while I feel homicidal

Drown a Memory

Plays: 9
Backstory
Jennifer came into the write with this idea and Aron and I worked through it lyrically and musically with her and then Aron created the demo - it's his voice you are hearing.
Lyrics
Drown A Memory

V1
If I could drown a memory
An’ just watch it slip away
I’d round up every bad one
Sink them in a whiskey lake

I’d hold down your goodbye
An’ feel that pain slowly fade
Just disappearing from my mind
To the bottom of a Jim Beam grave

CH
Yeah, if I could drown a memory
If I could pick and choose
I’d let every argument go under
An’ save the I love you’s
I’d flood each of my mistakes
An’ rescue who we used to be
Yeah, if I could drown a memory
I’d drink to you an’ me

V2
I’d drink to all the times
That you took my breath away
Falling deep into your eyes
Bluer than those ocean waves

I’d drink to every moment
That I got to call you mine
Never thinking I might lose you
But here I am tonight

CHORUS REPEAT

BRIDGE
Girl, if you were sitting here like me
Trying to drown a memory
Of the night you left, the day we met
Or something in between
Which one would it be?
Oh, which one would it be?

CHORUS REPEAT

Lyrics
Dark Horse Lighthouse
(Melyssa Corrigan)

[V1]
Girl, I know you never saw this coming
And moved back home to mend a broken heart
But I’ve always believed we could be something
So buckle up, don’t shut me up, just let a fella start

[CH]
I’ll be your dark horse, lighthouse
Future dreams you forgot about
Your long shot, sure thing
Summer fling and your diamond ring
If you let me love away your doubts
I’ll be your dark-horse, lighthouse

[V2]
You’re the woman I have always wished for
And I think I understand just what you need
I’m sure you’ve probably heard all of this before
But listen up, the time has come
That you hear-it from me

[CH]
I’ll be your dark horse, lighthouse
Future dreams you forgot about
Your long shot, sure thing
Summer fling and your diamond ring
If you let me love away your doubts
I’ll be your dark-horse, lighthouse

[BR]
I will help you set your sights on nothing but the moon
And I’ll be your sun-ray on days there ain’t none shining through

[CH]
I’ll be your dark horse, lighthouse
Future dreams you forgot about
Your long shot, sure thing
Summer fling and your diamond ring
If you let me love away your doubts
I’ll be your dark-horse, lighthouse
Won't you let me love away your doubts
I'll be your dark-horse, lighthouse

Lyrics
Educated Man
(Melyssa Corrigan, Charlie Dunn)

[Verse 1]
Pardon me ma’am for being so forward
And I-can’t pronounce the drink he just ordered
But I overheard all of his mansplaining business
Him checkin’ his phone sayin’ “i gotta take this”

Only a fool would keep you here waiting
His fancy degree might be suh-phis-ticatin’
But, I’m studying you from a barstool away
And can already read the look on your face

[Chorus]
If you’re searching for an educated man
There are some things he’ll never understand
How to be strong
How to hold you tight
How to be soft
How to love you right
Let-me know you, like the back of my hand
An’ I will show you, an educated man

[Verse 2]
Don’t be impressed by the white of his collar
We can chase stars while he’s chasing a dollar
If you-like to slow dance, we-can move real fast
And find us the moon, 'fore he gets back

[Chorus]

[quick interlude]

[Chorus]
