I grew up in Chattanooga TN Lived in Florida for ten yearsNow living in Roanoke Virginia .I always thought about lyrics and created songs in my mind but only decided to write them down and share them in the past few years. This Christmas song came to me because we all have loved ones/friends that cannot be with us to celebrate Christmas.
Either they have gained their wings and are now in Heaven or deployed in the military or just can’t be there for whatever reason.
But they’re still missing.
“One Light Out” represents them. I visualized a tradition leaving a light out. Kind of opposite from leaving the lights on until they return.
It’s a unique way to remember them at such a special time!!
