About

I joined SongU after taking part in the UKSC, where three of my lyrics received 5-star ratings along with a commended entry.I write in both Italian and English. I have published some work in Italy for a few up-and-coming singers. I like to tell stories in my lyrics, both about ordinary people and famous people, such as myths, legends or tributes to great figures from history. I have taken some writing courses with famous authors and producers in Italy and have already worked in writing sessions with musicians and producers.I am mainly a lyricist and I am currently writing a musical about Saint Francis of Assisi.I’m looking to collaborate with musicians who can bring my lyrics to life or start from scratch based on ideas we both love.
Influences I love pop and rock music. I’m a big Elton John fan and really admire Bernie Taupin’s songwriting. My influences range from The Beatles and Sting to Cat Stevens, and I’m passionate about musicals. I’m even working on writing one myself. My favourites include *Jesus Christ Superstar*, *The Sound of Music*, and *The Rocky Horror Picture Show*. I’m drawn to music that moves me, tells stories, and makes people think.

Backstory
This is the first song from the musical (rock opera) I am writing about the life of Saint Francis of Assisi: The Holy Jester.

Francis’s father, Peter Bernardone, a wealthy cloth merchant, thinks of his son who is now imprisoned in Perugia for having fought against the nobles of Assisi. Francis had sided with the lower classes, the minor ones, as he called them. Peter thinks about the future of his son and wonders why he decided to call him Francis, while her mother had baptized him John.

The demo is performed and sung by Suno, with my own prompting, mixing and post-production work to achieve the voices and the choir exactly as I had envisioned them.
Lyrics
(Francis’s father)
I spent all my life trying to find a good deal
But I was away when he first appeared
A pilgrim came on the day he was born
He said he’d be one of the best in the world

She called him John when, from a son of rage,
The water turned him into a child of grace
His warm heart made everybody in awe
She said he’d be like a son of God

(Chorus)
Francis, is the way I called him
Francis, is the word they love
Money, for his cause is useless
Funny, this will make him strong
God, was that the help I gave him
Odd, no other thing would work
Francis, just a name I chose
Chances, are what I ask from God

(Francis’s companions in prison)
Francis, is the way you called him
Francis, is the word we love
Money, for his cause is useless
Funny, this will make him strong
God, was that the help you gave him
Odd, no other thing would work
Francis, just a name you chose
Chances, are what we ask from him

(Francis’s father)
I raised him up like a gentle knight
But I can’t share the reasons why he fights
They said in jail he would’ve mocked his chains
Predicting we’ll worship him as a saint

His courtly manners earned him noble places
But he looks crazy to all his prison mates
Is there a plan that we don’t understand
’Cause still I see a spoilt and uppish man

Francis, is the way I called him
Francis, is the word they love
Money, for his cause is useless
Funny, this will make him strong
God, was that the help I gave him
Odd, no other thing would work
Francis, just a name I chose
Answers are what I’m asking for

(Francis’s companions in prison)?
Francis, is the way he called you
Francis, is the word we love
Money, for your cause is useless
Funny, will this make you strong
God, was that the help he gave you
Odd, no other thing would work
Francis, just a name he chose
Answers are what we ask from you

03_HJ_KING_OF_THE_BANQUET

Plays: 5
Backstory
This is the third song from a musical (rock opera) I am writing about the life of Saint Francis of Assisi.

(Thomas of Celano, Second Life of Saint Francis, Chapter III)
So on his return home the children of Babylon followed him and dragged him, now that he was tending else whither, to other pursuits even against his will; for a band of young fellows of Assisi, whose leader he had formerly been in their vanity, still continued to invite him to share their feasts, which always ministered to wantonness and buffoonery. They made him their chief, for, having often experienced his liberality, they knew without doubt that he would pay the expenses of them all. They yielded him obedience that they might fill their bellies, and endured subjection that they might be able to glut themselves. He did not refuse the proffered honour, that he might not be taxed with stinginess, and amid his holy meditations was mindful of good-fellowship. He prepared a sumptuous banquet and doubled the dainties, and his guests, filled with them even to vomiting, polluted the streets of the town with their drunken songs.

The demo is performed and sung by Suno, with my own prompting, mixing and post-production work to achieve the voices and the choir exactly as I had envisioned them.
Lyrics
(Francis’s companions)
We’re back again and we are ready to start
Just one more night, worthy of a superstar
There’s only one who can manage the game
Our jaunty jester is always ready to pay

(Pre-chorus)
He’s generous and elegant
His clothes are always smart
He’s not a knight, he’s truly a king
The king of all the hearts
Francis is our king of the banquet
He’s King of the joy
If you ask he answers "yes"
Or "ouì ouì ouì, comme un Français"

(Chorus)
Francis is our king of the banquet
Not just a playboy
Sure, he is rich
But never mean
He’s gorgeous night and day

(Verse)
We’re Francis’s subjects from the deep of our heart
He tries to excel in every art and every part
For us he spends all the money he gains
And that is why we all agree to obey

(Pre-chorus)
He loves to sing and to enchant
His speeches are pure art
He’s not a knight, he’s truly a king
The king of all the hearts

(Chorus)
Here comes our King of the banquet
We are ready for joy
Please show us your great finesse
You rise above the fray
Please be the king of our banquet
Be our courtly boy
You bewitch
Show us your sheen
And never go away

(Francis - Chorus reprise)
I’ll be the king of your banquet
I’ll give you my joy
All of you will be my guests
And there’s no need to pray
I’ll be the king of the banquet
Just join the convoy
Make a switch
I have no stain
I’ll brighten up your day

(Francis’s companions)
Francis is our king of the banquet
He’s King of the joy
We adore the way he dresses
As on a wedding day
Francis is our king of the banquet
Not just our toy
He’s a finch
But never preens
He shines far and away

(A companion notices that Francis started to feel uneasy)
But … what’s wrong my King ?of the banquet
Have you been annoyed
It was the wedding day, I guess
You’re not ready to stay
Smile at me, king of our banquet
Still show me your joy

(Francis)
There’s no hitch
My bride, you’ll see,
Will blow you all away

BRICK AFTER BRICK

Lyrics by: Orsola Nizzero

VERSE 1 FRANCIS

My Lord, I am overcome by thousands of thoughts
And I can’t conceal the fervor in my soul
My Lord, you’re the only one who can see me through
How can I entrust my holy intentions to you

VERSE 2 (VOICE FROM THE CRUCIFIX)

Francis, it’s your turn, you’re my new handyman
Soil your hands with mud and carry out my new plan
Francis, go and repair my house, ’cause as you’ve seen
It’s falling into ruin and only you can redeem it
Francis, you’re the architect I was waiting for
It’s your time to act, you can evolve more and more

PRE-CHORUS FRANCIS

My Lord, if this is what you want, I’ll follow your plan
Help me worthy of this, I’ll do the best I can

CHORUS
Brick after brick after brick …
Stone after stone after stone …
Day after day after day …
Please show me the way, don’t leave me alone

Brick after brick after brick …
Stone after stone after stone …
Day after day after day …
Please show me the way or I’ll go astray

VERSE 4 (FRANCIS)
My Lord, I’ll repair your house with love, joy and glee
I feel the mercy of your cross inside me

Dear Priest, take my money to buy oil and a light
May that sacred image never stop shining bright

CHORUS
Brick after brick after brick …
Stone after stone after stone …
Day after day after day …
I’m learning the true way to save your throne
Brick after brick after brick …
Stone after stone after stone …
Day after day after day after day
I’ll just serve and pray and do what you say

(Brick after brick after brick …)
(Stone after stone after stone …)
(Day after day after day …)
(Brick after brick after brick …)
(Stone after stone after stone …)
(Day after day after day after day)

13_HJ_THE_HOLY_JESTER

Plays: 2
Backstory
This is the title song from a musical (rock opera) I am writing about the life of Saint Francis of Assisi: The Holy Jester

It is performed by Saint Clare. She was a young and wealthy girl from Assisi who witnessed the scene with Francis and the Bishop and she is surprised to see that Francis is very similar to her.

The demo is performed and sung by Suno, with my own prompting, mixing and post-production work to achieve the voices and the choir exactly as I had envisioned them.
Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Who is this man?
Where is he from?
You may think he is an angel
Or you may see just a clown

[Verse 2]
Does he behave
Like a real saint
Or is he just the jester
Of a king without a crown

[Verse 3]
The things he says
The way he plays
Seem good to me but shake most people in town

[Pre-Chorus]
Should I be happy or should I be scared?
If deep in my heart I’ve always felt the things he claims
Should I approach him or should I beware?
If what I’ve always wanted is to behave in the same way

[Chorus]
He is a jester
He is a holy jester
He raised my soul to heaven
And spread my love much higher
Can I love him
Like you love an angel
Love without possession
It will be much stronger

Is this true love
The true love of angels
If we are one in spirit
We’ll be one forever
Can I love him
Like you love an angel
Love without possession
It will be much stronger

[Special]
I wish I could talk to him
I wish I could walk with him
I want to live by his ways
Will I be apt to obey

[Chorus]
He is a jester
He is a holy jester
He raised my soul to heaven
And spread my love much higher
Can I love him
Like you love an angel
Love without possession
It will be much stronger

Is this true love
The true love of angels
If we are one in spirit
We’ll be one forever

Is this true love
The true love of angels
If we are one in spirit
We’ll be one forever

He is a holy jester
He is a holy jester

JORDAN OF THE STARS

Plays: 0
Lyric only
Backstory
It’s a song dedicated to my grandfather, whom I never had the chance to meet. He passed away suddenly when my father was 21. He was a manager at a major multinational company, admired worldwide for his ability to recognize the finest quality wool and for his strong diplomatic and leadership skills.

Although I never knew him, I try to carry forward his message and the values he passed down to me through my father.
Lyrics
(Verse 1)
They said you were a lucky man
But all I know is you worked so hard
From Lille straight down to Australia
No one ever matched your touch

(Verse 2)
They honored you like some wise knight
But like a servant you walked disguised
Artists and captains circling ’round you
Adored the blonde queen at your side

(Chorus)
Tell me, Jordan of the stars
Are your sheep ready tonight?
Will the wool be enough to cover
All the cold thoughts in our minds
Tell me, Jordan of the stars
Am I wrong or am I right
What I am trying to recover
Is just a whim or some foresight

(Verse 3)
I could never get to know you
I could never say adieu
But I still carry your seeds
And try to live up to your leads

(Pre-Chorus)
You left us sudden and speechless
Like a shepherd to remind us
That naked we all come to life,
And naked we will leave to die

(Chorus)
Tell me, Jordan of the stars
(Jordan of the stars)
Are your sheep ready tonight?
Will the wool be enough to cover
All the cold thoughts in our minds
Tell me, Jordan of the stars
Am I wrong or am I right
(Am I wrong or am I right)
What I am trying to recover
Is just a whim or some foresight
Oooh-ooh

(Bridge)
Looking back I've learned the way
To hand down your life to mine
Just this moment truly counts
Please don't open our old wounds
Looking forward makes no sense
If our life is worth, it’s now
Please just live, don’t drift too far
That’s what Jordan whispers from the stars

(Final Chorus)
Tell me, Jordan of the stars
Are your sheep ready tonight?
(ready tonight)
Will the wool be enough to cover
All the cold thoughts in our minds
Ooooh-ooh Jordan of the stars
(of the stars)
Am I wrong or am I right
(am I right)
What I am trying to recover
Is just a whim or some foresight
Oooh-ohoh Jordan of the stars

THE FAIREST IN THE LAND

Plays: 3
Backstory
A playful tribute to the timeless charm of Betty Boop and the golden age of animation. It evokes a dreamy nightclub where swing, burlesque charm and animated fantasy meet.

Lyrics and post production with Reaper are 100% - Music and demo by Suno.
Lyrics
Big eyes, late night,
Garter and curls
Short dress, long gloves,
Trumpets and swirls
Snow White, childlike
voices and whirls
Sing for me
Once again
Dance for me
Do the same
Down a cabaret lane

Princess, doll-like
From dreamy worlds
Sweetness, stage lights
The curtain unfurled
Burlesque, spotlight,
And crazy twirls
Smile at me
Once again
Boop for me
Sing again
Your stage refrain

Betty, (oop) sweet girl
The fairest in the land
Doll-like (doop) chanteuse
With your jazzy band
Betty, (oop) I loved you
And I’ll never forget
Your big eyes, your sweet curls
And your soft silhouette
Lady, (oop) I loved you
And I’ll never forget,
Your dark beat, your glam pearls
And your hot cabaret

Betty, chanteuse, with your teasing smile
Take me with you on a limousine ride
Baby, you’re gorgeous with your lovely style
Please dance for me and wink through this dreamy night

Betty, (oop) sweet girl
The fairest in the land
Doll-like (doop) chanteuse
With your jazzy band
Betty, (oop) I loved you
And I’ll never forget
Your big eyes, your sweet curls
And your soft silhouette
Lady, (oop) I loved you
And I’ll never forget,
Your dark beat, your glam pearls
And your hot cabaret

Betty, (oop) be sure
Your “Boop-oop-a-doop!”
Will always light up our daydreams
And charming soirée.

GOLDEN FOX

Plays: 4
Backstory
It’s a glamorous, seductive cabaret with a modern electro-swing energy, dedicated to the iconic Marlene Dietrich.
The mood is happy, sexy and slightly chill.
The lyrics follow a mysterious “golden fox” who fascinates both men and women; a queer-friendly tribute to old Hollywood and Berlin nights.
Lyrics are 100% human. The demo is from Suno where I guided with prompting melody and arrangement.
I'm open to any changes. I hold 100% of the commercial rights.
Lyrics
Author: Orsola Nizzero

[Verse 1]
They may have glimpsed you passing by
The only one with a black tie
You look black but can be white
In the darkness of the night

[Chorus]
Should I trust you
Golden Fox?
Should I touch you
Or I get lost?
You look so proud and charm the crowd
But I don't care.
Tonight it's me
Who dares to be
Your love affair
Your love affair

[Verse 2]
You are longing for a love affair
Your thrilling eyes pry into the air
You can lie with no regret
Drink champagne just to forget

[Chorus]
Should I trust you
Golden Fox?
Should I touch you
Or I get lost?
You look so proud and charm the crowd
But I don't care
Tonight it's me
Who dares to be
Your love affair
Your love affair

[Bridge]
There's no way to penetrate your soul
'Cause you never ever lose control
You seem stone but can be flower
Men and women feel your power

[Chorus]
Should I trust you
Golden Fox?
Should I touch you
Or I get lost?
You look so proud and charm the crowd
But I don't care.
Tonight it's me
Who dares to be
Your love affair
Your love affair

SAVE ME, NINA

Plays: 5
Lyric only
Backstory
Inspired by the memoir The Day Nina Simone Stopped Singing by Darina Al-Joundi and Mohamed Kacimi, this work echoes the defiant spirit of Nina Simone, whose voice becomes a symbol of a young woman’s struggle to claim her freedom in a world shaped by repression and dogma. It stands as a hymn to female freedom and a powerful indictment of all forms of fundamentalism and patriarchal restriction.
Lyrics
SAVE ME, NINA
Lyrics by Orsola Nizzero

VERSE
I'm searching for my missing half
Like anyone in Plato's myth
I trade the day for night
And love for hate
In your religion, I don’t fit

I have no memories of the sky
With every glass of vodka I toasted
I felt the kick and learned
To shape my fate
And not to deal with ghosts

CHORUS
Can you still play a song for me
Can you still tell a story and see
All the tears that we denied
Coming down like a silent tide
Nina, will you save me when
Like a bitch, I kiss your God
Will you help me to forget
All the shots over my head

VERSE
They think I’m mad, or do they lie
They blame my words and attitude
Raised among Christians
I learned to sin
Now let me change my latitude

I danced alone and found the way
To put my old demons on stage
Dealing with fear I found
Who I truly am
Now I'll regain my freedom

CHORUS
Can you still play a song for me
Can you still tell a story and see
All the tears that we denied
Coming down like a silent tide
Nina, will you save me when
Like a bitch, I kiss your God
Will you help me to forget
All the shots over my head

SPECIAL
Now the sea is wider and the bombs are harmless
All my past illusions fade away into darkness
I will stop it now, I promise I will bow
If you free me now, to your God I’ll bow

FRENCH RIVIERA

Plays: 2
Lyric only
Backstory
It’s a light, upbeat song designed as a summer hit and a tribute to the famous French Riviera and the Côte d’Azur. It also aims to capture the carefree lifestyle of these places, with a touch of subtle irony about their over-the-top luxury and extreme frivolity.
Lyrics
VERSE 1
I walk along the English promenade
(Promenade des Anglais)
Kitesurfers dance along with turquoise waters
(Ça, c’est la Côte d’Azur)
Flirting with wind and waves like blazing lovers
They twirl my dreams
And glow like vibrant flowers

PRE-CHORUS
Doesn’t matter what you’ve been
Doesn’t matter where you live
Taste an oyster with rosé
Lose yourself in Saint-Tropez

CHORUS
Everybody feels romance
In the French Riviera
Everybody has a chance
In the French Riviera
Everybody comes to bathe
In the French Riviera
Everybody drinks champagne
In the French Riviera
I’m in the French Riviera
(I’m in the Côte d’Azur)
I love the French Riviera

VERSE 2
I lie in a five-star hotel when it’s too hot
I wave to a V.I.P. on his superyacht
(C’est la Côte d’Azur)
I slice through a private beach on my paddleboard
And my midnight dream
Is to bask in champagne showers

PRE-CHORUS
Doesn’t matter what you’ve been
Doesn’t matter where you live
Taste an oyster with rosé
Lose yourself in Saint-Tropez

CHORUS
Everybody feels romance
In the French Riviera
Everybody has a chance
In the French Riviera
Everybody comes to bathe
In the French Riviera
Everybody drinks champagne
In the French Riviera
I’m in the French Riviera
(I’m in the Côte d’Azur)
I love the French Riviera

SPECIAL
Here nothing is promised
And nothing is lost
Apart from the sparks
Dancing ’round the fireworks
Nothing is promised
Nothing is lost
Apart from the stakes
Down at the casino

CHORUS
Everybody feels romance
In the French Riviera
Everybody has a chance
In the French Riviera
Everybody comes to bathe
In the French Riviera
Everybody drinks champagne
In the French Riviera
I’m in the French Riviera
(I’m in the Côte d’Azur)
I love the French Riviera
