About

Hiya! I’m 65 yrs old. I’m getting started in my new career as a songwriter, but I’m not new to writing and music. I have been writing for decades, mostly for websites and magazines.Whether it’s on the page or in a video, I really enjoy telling stories. I have enjoyed writing poetry since childhood. My background is in video production and music editing. I even did some acting, make up for stage plays and photography. I was a vocalist for several decades, in and out of bands, dinner clubs and jazz bars.

For the last 30 years, I’ve been an advocate for people with disabilities. I was the family caregiver from age 12 to 60, so as you can imagine, my writing comes from life experience. My work is centered from personal experience, relationships humanity and emotion. I write to evoke something universal. My most common feedback has been, “ You wrote what I feel. I could never put it into words, but you expressed it for me.” I suffered several traumatic brain injuries and physical injuries, so while it may have ended many opportunities it has opened new doors, one of which is songwriting. I’m really enjoying this stage of my life.

Beach! (After Graduation)

Plays: 7
Backstory
I wrote a little fun song for a girl band just to please myself.
Lyrics
Beach ( After Graduation) by Janice Tindle
[Verse 1]
I couldn’t wait for graduation
Gonna have some fun with the situation
I’ve never been one to get too wild and crazy
I’m gonna lay on a beach and get real lazy

[Pre-Chorus]
Flip-flops in the sand
Cool drink in my hand
I kept it real all year
Now I’m out of here

[Chorus]
Beach after graduation
Beach after graduation
Let the waves take it slow
I’m gonna let it go, go , go
Beach after graduation
Beach after graduation
No more tests no more books
Just sun tanned skin and looks

[Verse 2]
Got a week-old tan line
And a borrowed lawn chair
Cold drink sweating on the dock
With my feet in the air
My friends are all shouting
“Come on, make a scene!”
I just grin and drift away
In my long awaited daydream

[Pre-Chorus]
Flip-flops in the sand
Cool drink in my hand
I kept it real all year
Now I’m out of here

[Chorus]
Beach after graduation
Beach after graduation
Let the waves take it slow
I’m gonna let it go, go , go, go
Beach after graduation
Beach after graduation
No more tests no more books
Just sun tanned skin and looks

[Bridge]
All those late nights
All those hard tests
I did my best
Now I need the rest
One deep breath
One long ride
I’m leaving that old pressure far behind

[Final Chorus]
Beach after graduation
Beach after graduation
Let the waves take it slow
I’m gonna let it go, go, go,go
Beach after graduation
Beach after graduation
No more tests, no more books
Just sun tanned skin and looks

[Outro]
I’m gonna lay on a beach
And I know it sounds crazy
But just gonna lay out
And just be lazy

How My Heart Feels About You

Plays: 13
Backstory
I wrote this song about my husband. He has stayed with me through 46 years, 30 of them I’ve been disabled. His faithfulness and love has been the epitome of love.
Lyrics
[Verse 1]
The quiet peace that comes after a storm
The inner calm that comes when you belong
The kind in the stillness of the hills
And the way you look when you sleep

[Pre-Chorus]
You come in like morning rain
Soft on my windowpane
Every broken part goes still
When you say my name

[Chorus]
That’s how my heart feels about you
That’s how my heart feels about you
Safe in your arms, I bloom
That’s how my heart feels about you

[Verse 2]
Your laugh as you go out the porch screen door
Your hand in my grasping hand
The way you make the small things stay
Like they were always meant to land

[Pre-Chorus]
You come in like morning rain
Soft on my windowpane
Every broken part heals
When you say my name

[Chorus]
That’s how my heart feels about you
That’s how my heart feels about you
Safe in your arms, I bloom
That’s how my heart feels about you

[Bridge]
If the pain comes back again
I’ll still know where to go
Right to the place your kindness lives
Right where the wild winds slow

[Final Chorus]
That’s how my heart feels about you
That’s how my heart feels about you
Safe in your arms, I bloom
That’s how my heart feels about you
(about you)

Lyrics
Crest ( Falling At The Crest) by Janice Tindle
[Verse 1]
I’ve climbed the mountain
So many times
I was told it was the journey
And the top was sublime

Each step felt holy
Each mile felt mine
Then the air would change on me
Right before the line

[Pre-Chorus]
I could see it
I could taste it
Just one breath away
Then the ground would shake

[Chorus]
Falling at the crest
Falling at the crest
Almost there
Then nothing left
Falling at the crest
Falling at the crest
I start again
With empty hands

[Verse 2]
I know every broken
Stone on the trail
The same old promise
The same old fail

I held my own heartbeat
Like a lantern in the dark
But the closer I got there
The harder it would spark

[Pre-Chorus]
I could see it
I could taste it
Just one breath away
Then the ground would shake

[Chorus]
Falling at the crest
Falling at the crest
Almost there
Then nothing left
Falling at the crest
Falling at the crest
I start again
With empty hands

[Bridge]
Tell me why the peak keeps moving
When my feet are worn and thin
Tell me why I meet the summit
Just to watch it slip again

Still I lace my hope back up
Still I face that open sky
If I fall a hundred times
I’ll climb a hundred times

[Final Chorus]
Falling at the crest
Falling at the crest
Almost there
Then nothing left
Falling at the crest
Falling at the crest
I start again
But I still rise
Falling at the crest
Falling at the crest
This time I know
I’m more than the fall

Are You Brave Enough To Climb?

Plays: 0
Backstory
I like to write old fashioned songs with a new twist
Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Long ago when the woods were still
You could whisper to the trees
And they would answer back at will
In the crackle of the leaves

The moss kept score in the shade
The river knew your name
Every path you ever made
Seemed to lead you to the same

[Pre-Chorus]
Then the peaks rose up at dawn
Tall and cold and black
They looked at you and pulled you on
And there was no way back

[Chorus]
Are you brave enough to climb?
Are you brave enough to climb?
The mountain keeps the time
And the sun never waits to shine

[Verse 2]
The mountains asked the question
“Are you brave enough to climb?”
It never answered back
It just kept you in line

So you watched the weather turn
Over stone and snow
Every step became a burn
Every fear you had would show

[Pre-Chorus]
Still the summit held its breath
Like it knew your name
And every doubt you carried next
Walked behind the flame

[Chorus]
Are you brave enough to climb?
Are you brave enough to climb?
The mountain keeps the time
And the sun never waits to shine
[Bridge]
Maybe the answer was never yes
Maybe it was move, just move
Past the ache and the emptiness
Past the wound and through

When the wind cut through your coat
And the dark came down
You found the place your heart still knows
Before the world turned round

[Final Chorus]
Are you brave enough to climb?
Are you brave enough to climb?
The mountain keeps the time
Are you brave enough to climb?
(are you brave enough)
(are you brave enough)
