Lyrics
Fire It Up

Written by Billy James Brady

Verse 1

Sittin’ ’round the burn barrel on a cold moon night,
Wrapped in a blanket with a six\-pack of light
Listenin’ to a picker, pluckin’ a tune,
Baby, knowin’ it’s just me and you

Chorus

So fire it up,
Fire it up,
Fire it up, baby

Yeah, fire it up
Fire it up,
Fire it up

Verse 2

Nothin’ gonna stop us till we end it,
Arm around your shoulder, turn the radio up
A little bit of liquor, makin’ it quicker,
Temperature gauge showin’ way over hot\.

Chorus

Fire it up,
Fire it up,
Fire it up, baby

Yeah, fire it up,
Fire it up,
Fire it up

Instrumental Break

Aw, play it\! Fire it, boy\!
Woo\!

Verse 3

Key in, turn it up, dirt road of passion,
Crank the radio to a rockin’ country song\.
Pedal to the metal, dust cloud behind us,
Gonna take this road on, movin’ along\.

Chorus

So fire it up,
Fire it up,
Fire it up, baby

Yeah, fire it up,
Fire it up,
Fire it up

Bridge

Us country boys gonna run out of gas,
So girl, let’s kick some party ass
Nice by day, devil at night,
Burn till we see the light
The southern light

Final Chorus

Yeah, fire it up

Yeah, fire it up,
Fire it up,
Fire it up, baby

Yeah, fire it up,
Fire it up,
Fire it up

Yeah, fire it up,
Come on, fire it up,
Fire it up

Lyrics
Why Chase Tomorrow

Written by Billy James Brady

Verse 1

Alarm clock ringing
Like it owns my soul
Coffee’s getting cold
While I’m lost in the scroll

Always in a hurry
Always running late
Living five miles ahead
Of the moment I’m in today

Pre-Chorus

Granddad used to say
With a half-smile grin,
“Son, slow down,
This life ain’t a race to win.”

Chorus

Why chase tomorrow
When we still got today?
Enjoy the moments
You have left in the day

Swing on a swing
Or let your hair down
Tomorrow’s not guaranteed
To be around

Verse 2

Bills on the counter
Dust on the dash
Kids growing up
Way too fast

Sun going down
On an old back road
I keep saying, “One day,”
But one day won’t slow

That red sun sinking
Behind the trees
Feels like it’s talking
Straight to me

Chorus

Why chase tomorrow
When we still got today?
Enjoy the moments
You have left in the day

Swing on a swing
Or let your hair down
Tomorrow’s not guaranteed
To be around

Bridge

Take the long way home
Pull over and pray
Call the ones you love
Tell ’em, “Don’t wait”

Laugh a little louder
Stay out past dark
Leave your worries sitting
In the truck, in the park

Breakdown

Why chase tomorrow
When we still got today?
All we ever really own
Is this moment anyway

Final Chorus

Why chase tomorrow
When we still got today?
Enjoy the moments
You have left in the day

Swing on a swing
Or let your hair down
Tomorrow’s not guaranteed
To be around

Outro

So I’m breathing this second
Letting it stay
Yeah, I’m done chasing tomorrow
I’m living today

Lyrics
WHISKEY KISS

Written by Billy James Brady

Verse 1
Yeah, I’m buzzing like my phone won’t stop
Same damn bar, same damn spot
Your name still burns when it drops
Yeah, it hits me harder than I want

You said forever like you meant it then
Guess forever’s shorter now and then
I learned the truth at last-call time
Some hearts don’t know how to stay in line

I ain’t mad
I just ain’t yours
There’s a difference
Learned that the hard way

Chorus
So pour me a drink
A shot of whiskey
Give me a kiss
Say you’ll miss me
Lie to me just for tonight

I’m done chasing what won’t stay
Done loving someone halfway
This country boy’s letting go tonight

Verse 2
Your boots are gone from the back door
My truck feels empty on a dirt road
I gave you my best, gave you more
You gave me reasons to drink slow

My mama says it’ll all make sense
When the hurt don’t hurt like this
But right now I’m just trying to breathe
Between what was us and what’s left of me

Yeah, I loved you honest
Loved you hard
Guess that makes me who I am

Chorus
So pour me a drink
A shot of whiskey
Give me a kiss
Say you’ll miss me
Lie to me just for tonight

I’m done chasing what won’t stay
Done loving someone halfway
This country boy’s letting go tonight

Bridge
If I see you with somebody new
I won’t say a word, I won’t lose my cool
I’ll just turn the radio up loud
Let the past fade out somehow

Final Chorus
So pour me a drink
A shot of whiskey
Give me a kiss
Say you’ll miss me
And let me walk into my life

I ain’t broken
Just bent some
Still believe in love
Just not that one
This country boy’s moving on tonight

Outro
Yeah, the hurt still burns
But it’s feeling right
With a buzz in my veins
And the truth inside

Lyrics
BACK TO THE SIMPLE LIFE

Billy James Brady

Verse 1

I’ve been running wide open, chasing that clock
Same old traffic, same old parking lot
Everybody’s in a hurry, trying to get somewhere
I think I’m gonna disappear where nobody cares

Trade that alarm for the morning sun
Sleep till ten if the night was fun
Old dirt road and a tank of gas
Turn my phone off, ain’t looking back

PreChorus

I don’t need much
Just a little more time
A little less worry
Running through my mind

Chorus

I’m going back to the simple life
Back\-road parties on a Friday night
Bare feet hanging off a tailgate
Cold drinks sweating while the radio plays

Sun going down, fire coming up
Good friends laughing—yeah, that’s enough
No plans, no clock, no wrong or right
I’m going back to the simple life

Verse 2

Saturday morning, I’m sleeping in
Don’t care what time that day begins
Throw on some shorts, grab an old ball cap
Take the long way there and the longer way back

Maybe hit the lake when the sun gets hot
Find a little shade in our favorite spot
Grill fired up around half past five
Ain’t doing much, but damn, that’s a life

Chorus

I’m going back to the simple life
Back\-road parties on a Friday night
Bare feet hanging off a tailgate
Cold drinks sweating while the radio plays

Sun going down, fire coming up
Good friends laughing yeah, that’s enough
No plans, no clock, no wrong or right
I’m going back to the simple life

Oh, I’m going back
To the simple life

Bridge

Give me nowhere I gotta be
Nobody needing nothing from me
A porch swing moving in the summer breeze
A million stars through the old oak trees

Maybe getting ahead
Ain’t what getting ahead should mean
Maybe having everything
Is needing less of everything

Final Chorus

I’m going back to the simple life
Long hot days and them cool, clear nights
Back road parties underneath the moon
Sleeping all morning, waking up at noon

Sun kissed skin and a beat up truck
A little bit of money and a whole lot of luck
If that’s all I ever get in this life
Man, I’m gonna be alright

Turn that blacktop into gravel tonight
Yeah, I’m going back
I’m going back
To the simple life

Outro

No clock, no tie
Just stars in the sky
Yeah, I’m going back
To the simple life

Lyrics
Whiskey Trouble

Written by Billy James Brady

Verse 1

Sittin’ at the bar on a Saturday night
With this girl I just met, and damn, she’s a sight
We’re listenin’ to the band playin’ honky-tonk
Movin’ to the groove while we’re talkin’ the talk

Hey, bartender, pour us another shot
My buzz is hittin’ hard, and I don’t wanna stop

Chorus

One shot, two shots, three and a beer
Baby, get me outta here
I’m seein’ double
I’m fallin’ into whiskey trouble

Verse 2

Suddenly she leans in, taps on my shoulder
Says, “Hey, man, let’s head out
Come over to my place
And in the morning, I’ll drive you home”

We can have a few drinks, let the good times roll
But you can stay, girl, I’ll lose all control

Chorus

One shot, two shots, three and a beer
Baby, get me outta here
I’m seein’ double
I’m fallin’ into whiskey trouble

Bridge

Whiskey’s got me spinnin’ ’round
Heart beatin’ like a small-town crowd
Her smile’s hittin’ harder than the ninety-proof
And I don’t know what’s real
But I know it’s the truth

Final Chorus

One shot, two shots, three shots and a beer
Somebody get me outta here
I’m seein’ trouble
I’m drownin’ in whiskey trouble, yeah

One shot, two shots
Three shots and a beer
Somebody get me outta here
I’m seein’ trouble
I’m drownin’ in whiskey trouble

Ladies Still Love Us Cowboys

Written by Billy James Brady

Verse 1
Ladies, it’s no mystery,
Us cowboys got history.
We’re legends and heroes and gentlemen.

Might be a little rough,
But some ladies like us tough.
Us cowboys draw an ace now and then.

Chorus
Ladies still love us cowboys,
From our boots to our worn-out blue jeans.
We’ll always tip our hats
Before we ask for a dance.
Ladies still love us cowboys.

Verse 2
Cowboys walk a line,
We treat you ladies mighty fine,
’Cause cowboys got an age-old code.

We always keep a promise,
’Cause ladies like a man who’s honest.
Us cowboys always look out for our own.

Chorus
Ladies still love us cowboys,
From our boots to our worn-out blue jeans.
We’ll always tip our hats
Before we ask for a dance.
Ladies still love us cowboys.

Beer Boots Friday Nights

Plays: 2
Backstory
Wanted kinda an anthem song about Friday nights . Beer Boots and typical country party song .
Lyrics
Boots, Beer & Friday Nights

Written by Billy James Brady

Verse 1
Dust on my Chevy from a backroad ride,
Sun going down on a small-town sky.
Cutoff jeans and a tank-top tan,
Country song on a summer wind.

Girls laughing by the tailgate lights,
Bonfire burning on a Friday night.
Someone always turns that song up loud,
And the whole damn field starts singing out.

Pre-Chorus
Ain’t thinking ’bout tomorrow tonight.

Chorus
Just boots, beer, and a Friday night,
Neon glow and a ballroom light.
Country song and the speakers loud,
Whole small town in a dancing crowd.

A little bit wild and a little carefree,
Living it up like we’re seventeen.
Nothing better in the small-town life
Than boots, beer, and a Friday night.

Verse 2
DJ spinning that country sound,
Boots on the wood floor shaking the ground.
Some cowboy trying to steal a dance,
But I’m just here for the good-time chance.

Cold beer sweating in my hand,
Band playing loud with a Southern band.
Laughing with my girls all night,
Living it up in the neon lights.

Pre-Chorus
Ain’t thinking ’bout tomorrow tonight.

Chorus
Just boots, beer, and a Friday night,
Neon glow and a ballroom light.
Country song and the speakers loud,
Whole small town in a dancing crowd.

A little bit wild and a little carefree,
Living it up like we’re seventeen.
Nothing better in the small-town life
Than boots, beer, and a Friday night.

Instrumental Break

Bridge
If the sun comes up and we’re still singing,
That just means the good time’s winning.
Life’s too short to worry about
Anything but right here, right now.

Final Chorus
Yeah, boots, beer, and a Friday night,
Bonfire burning and the stars shining bright.
Radio loud in a pickup ride,
Girls and boys in a country vibe.

Raise ’em up if you’re feeling all right,
Here’s to living that small-town life.
Nothing better under these lights
Than boots, beer, and a Friday night

Going Broke for Christmas

Plays: 0
Backstory
I have a sister law who is crazy shopper like this so I had to write this .
Lyrics
Verse 1
December twenty-third, I’m running out of time,
Got a list a mile long and I’m standing in a line.
Somebody took my parking spot, I’m circling again,
Christmas spirit’s hanging on by a candy cane thread!

Got Mom a fuzzy sweater, Dad a brand-new drill,
The kids want everything they’ve seen on TikTok still.
My shopping cart is overflowing, my wallet’s looking thin,
But they’re playing “Jingle Bells,” so here we go again!

Chorus
Christmas shopping, shop, shop, shopping,
Running through the stores and I ain’t stopping!
Bags in my hands, presents in the car,
Forgot where I parked — Lord, I’ve gone too far!

Christmas shopping, laugh till we drop,
Credit card smoking but we just can’t stop!
Red and green, mistletoe and cheer,
Going broke for Christmas — same as every year!

Verse 2
I bought the wrong size sweater, lost a gift receipt,
A kid knocked over Santa while I’m looking for a seat.
The checkout line is twenty deep, my feet are killing me,
And someone grabbed the last darn toy from underneath the tree!

Then I get home wrapping with some tape stuck in my hair,
The dog runs off with Rudolph and there’s ribbons everywhere.
Cookies in the oven, Christmas music turned up loud,
And suddenly this crazy mess feels pretty good somehow.

Chorus
Christmas shopping, shop, shop, shopping,
Running through the stores and I ain’t stopping!
Bags in my hands, presents in the car,
Forgot where I parked — Lord, I’ve gone too far!

Christmas shopping, laugh till we drop,
Credit card smoking but we just can’t stop!
Red and green, mistletoe and cheer,
Going broke for Christmas — same as every year!

Bridge
But Christmas morning when the lights come on,
All that shopping madness is suddenly gone.
When everybody’s laughing and the family’s near,
I swear I wouldn’t change a thing about this time of year!

Final Chorus
Christmas shopping, shop, shop, shopping,
Next year I’ll start early — yeah, who am I kidding?!
Raise that cocoa, let the sleigh bells ring,
Christmas time’s my favorite crazy thing!

Christmas shopping, laugh till we drop,
Give a little love ’cause that’s the gift on top.
Red and green, everybody cheer—
Merry Christmas, y’all… we survived another year!

Outro
Ho, ho, ho!
Where’d I park that car?!

Cradle Your Guitar

Verse 1
You and your guitar on the front porch swing
You go someplace else like the notes give you wings
It happens every time you play
And sing that song
The one you wrote
When you were gone

Chorus
Oh, hold me, hold me, hold me
Like you cradle your guitar
Rock me, rock me, rock me
Like you slam those chords
Play me, play me, play me
Like you move those strings
Oh, do what you do and escape for a while
Then come and hold me, hold me
Like you cradle your guitar

Verse 2
It's alright that you miss part of your past
Your pain's in plain sight as you strum so fast
I know you'll be all in
Once you let it all out
When it comes to your love
I have no doubt

Chorus
So hold me, hold me, hold me
Like you cradle your guitar
Rock me, rock me, rock me
Like you slam those chords
Play me, play me, play me
Like you move those strings
Oh, do what you do to escape for a while
Then come and hold me, hold me
Like you cradle your guitar

Guitar Solo
Instrumental

Bridge
All your troubles melt away
When you play, play, play
And sing that song
As the porch swing sways, sways, sways

Final Chorus
Now hold me, hold me, hold me
Like you cradle your guitar
Rock me, rock me, rock me
Like you slam those chords
Play me, play me, play me
Like you move those strings
Hold me
Like you cradle your guitar

Outro
Hold me, hold me, hold me
Like you cradle your guitar
Hold me
Like you cradle your guitar
