Lyrics
Too Old to Feel This Young
(verse 1)
I know an old man, he’s a lover of life
He stopped counting the years – years ago
With the sun on his face, he’s proud of the lines
Though he’s casting an older man’s shadow
(Pre chorus)
He told me to hide that rocking chair
He’s got too many friends for solitaire
He still kneels by his bed for his nightly prayer
He still sings and dances like nobody’s there
(Chorus)
He’s done a lot of circles round the sun
But he believes the best is still to come
That mirror tells him he aint twenty-one
He says “I’m too old to feel this young”
Yes…I’m too old to feel this young
Saturday nights, he still loves to dance
Although these days he ends the night early
In the morning, he makes plans leaves nothing to chance
Sundays he gives to church and family
(Pre chorus)
He’s got a 59 Chevy and a shed full of spares
It’s just like him it needs a few repairs
But with a little bit of love and a little bit of care
It’ll keep on running, and take him…anywhere
(Chorus)
He’s done a lot of circles round the sun
But he believes the best is still to come
That mirror tells him he aint twenty-one
He says “I’m too old to feel this young”
Yes I’m…too old to feel this young
(Bridge)
He said…I aint scared of that long goodbye
But there are still a few things I gotta try
(Chorus)
He’s done a lot of circles round the sun
But he believes the best is still to come
That mirror tells him he aint twenty-one
He says “I’m too old to feel this young”
Yes I’m…too old to feel this young
“I’m too old to feel this young
