Even the Disgust is a Gift

The closer I walk with God the more the faker shows
The longer I live the more the double standard grows
Liars in the pew, users at the gate
I'm supposed to love them Lord, You know how hard that's great
Christ said as they done to Me they'll do to you
So I stopped being surprised and started living through
The pain is real, people don't care how you feel
But the Spirit in me is the only thing that's real

Real over fake when the sky splits wide

Blood ran down for every sin

Love refused to hate
Chains were strong, the battle loud
Mocking voices in the crowd
Yet He carried every loss
Up the hill toward the cross

Then breathed a living fire into his chest

You came from holy hands and a divine tide

INTRO:
My daddy used to say the richest men he knew
Died with empty hands and a room full of people crying
Not because of money, not the things they owned
But because of how they made you feel less alone
There's a difference between a life that's built
And a life that's simply spent

VS1:
I've watched the selfish go and I've watched the givers go
The ground receives them both without a preference
But the rooms they left behind told two different stories
One was full of silence
One was full of names being spoken soft and low
Like prayers that didn't want to end

CH:
It ain't what you gathered, ain't what you spent
It's what you leave in the room when you went
Did you carry somebody's weight for a while
Did you stop long enough to make a child smile
When the breath God loaned you finally returns
Will the love you gave be the thing that burns
Long after the cold and the quiet come through
What you leave in the room that's the truth of you

Walk in faith and not by what your two eyes see
The narrow road don't promise it'll feel like easy
Bitterness is a hole you dig for someone else

Little shepherd boy with a stone and a sling
Standing in a valley facing everything
Giant laughed nine feet tall and proud
But David walked out in the name of the Lord out loud
Didn't need the armor, didn't need the sword
Just five smooth stones and a trust in God's Word
He said the battle's not by strength or might
It's the Spirit of the Lord that wins this fight

CH:
Goliath had a bad day your giant will too
When you walk out in the name of the one who sees you through
Moving mountains, slinging stones, standing in the gap
Your problem ain't your Goliath it's the faith that you lack

I walked through the valley where the dead things lay
Nothing but hollow wind and faded days
Like Ezekiel standing among the dry remains
Can these bones live again, Lord? Can they rise from the plain
And the Word came down like thunder through the ground
Breathe into the lifeless let the living be found
Sinew on bone, and flesh on sinew came
An army awakened, never the same

HOOK:
The same God who called the dead to rise
Is the same God calling out to you tonight

This is the throne room of bones made alive
Where the grave couldn't hold and the stone couldn't hide
Third day glory firstfruits risen and free
The throne room of bones is where He found me

I was the sinner who had written himself off
Too far gone to be saved or so I thought
But the Potter doesn't discard the cracked and marred clay
He remolds what the fire and the fractures betrayed
Refiner's heat until the impurities clear
Fruit of the Spirit rising year after year
Abide in the vine that's the source and supply
A living sacrifice, no longer the old life

She kept the photographs in a shoebox by the bed
Every Sunday supper, every word she ever said
Memories made don't ask for permission to stay
They just find the cracks and they never go away
They say time heals and maybe that's half true
But the other half is learning what to do
With the chair still at the table, the voicemail still saved
And the love that outlasted the body in the grave

Pain is loss and loss is pain and it's nobody's cure
But the Shepherd walks the valley He's walked it before
His rod and staff comfort me right to the core

Living and grieving Lord, nobody counts the cost

Some folks wake up and complain about the day
I wake up knowing I could've been taken away
No man earns tomorrow that's borrowed time and grace
I woke up still breathing praising in this place
Day by day I'm blessed that's not a bumper sticker line
It's the fruit of the Spirit proving He is mine
Too blessed to be stressed yeah I know how that sounds
But I've been to the valley and I know the higher ground

HOOK:
So I won't waste this breath He gave it for a reason
Walk in faith live in joy through every single season

I woke up still breathing that's grace right there

But the church position won't excuse what the life went through
You think you're big enough to sidestep the account
No status in this world will matter at that mount

I walked a valley low where the shadow stretched real wide
Had nothing but a Shepherd walking close beside
His rod and staff they didn't leave my side
Green pastures waited past the darkest night I tried

Still waters running, can't tell me why
The table's set in front of all my enemies
Oil running down He's covering me

I was a stone the builder didn't want

I was dry bones on a wind-swept open plain
But the Spirit spoke and something stirred again
Ezekiel watched them rise and so did I
What looked like finished found its way to life

Lazarus lay four days in the dark and stone
But Christ called out his name and he came home
Don't count the days before the breakthrough comes
The narrow road still leads to kingdom come

Knock and the door swings wide open
Come to the well and thirst no more
Every season God appointed
Under the sun there's still so much more

Stars in the heavens wonderfully made
The same hand that hung them is the hand that saves
Loved ones gone but memories made remain
They say time heals the wound but the hurt don't fade

But the clouds up above with the pale moonlight
Are looking down and smiling through the dark of night
The ones who knew the Lord they're home and they're right

Don't dwell on the bad see the good in the light
Darkness and light it's all part of the fight
Happy and sad these seasons come and go
But stars in the heavens they still put on a show

Vapor in the wind and dust returning to dust
Everything is temporary in the eternal I trust
Horizon bright with dry bones rising new
Genesis and Revelation He makes all things through
