Back Story
I wrote this song as tribute to my son Ben for the celebration of his 31st birthday, October 16, 2008. It was based on emails he and I sent to each other regarding the memory of brother and son Ian Marston who died five years ago on September 27, 2003. Ben and Ian were room-mates in Detroit and experienced a closeness that Ben still hasn't gotten over. Like all brothers they fought between themselves and like all brothers (should) they loved each other as well. As I was listening to a lot of Tom Petty at the time of this songwriting effort, he kind of leaked in around the edges.
