I am running an NSAI event tonight and intend to get to a wireless connection at 9:00. If I have a problem doing that please evaluate the song if there is enough time. If that won't work I understand.
This was a birthday song that had too hard of a message so I wrote that person another one. I walked into the studio and did a scratch guitar and vocal. My recording producer informed me that the song was almost five minutes long, thematically sad and asked me what was I thinkin'? I was thinkin' this song was intended as a wake-up call to deadbeat dads (but even they didn't deserved to be subjected to five minutes of soul searching agony). I cut it down to just over three minutes. By the way, I have acted out the role of a father walking out on his kids and the message is as much an apology from me as a warning to others. What was I thinkin'? This was written with love.
