Welcome!
Let me extend a huge THANK YOU to those of you who took the trouble to sign my guestbook. You can't know how deeply moved and encouraged I have been by your kind and supportive comments about my music. I've added a few more songs, and I hope you will listen and let me know what you think. Interview
The Writer's Room
Why do you write songs?
I write because it is such an exciting process to bring something into existence that wasn't there before. I write to entertain people. I write because certain ideas just seize my brain and won't let me ignore them.

Who are your main influences?
I love the old standard pop songs of the 1930's -1950's and later. I love classic rock, the Beatles, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Judy Collins, Broadway Musicals, Blues, Dan Fogelberg, Carole King, and clever kicking new Country.

Highlights And Happenings
I just received a contract from a great publisher for I WON'T REMEMBER YOU. In the 11th Annual Unisong International Songwriting Contest this song received Honorable Mention in the Broadway/Cabaret Category. I now realize too late that I should have entered it in the Jazz category instead.
My song A COWBOY FOR CHRISTMAS was one of the top 20 finalists in the Seasonal category of the Unisong Contest.. My song IN JENNY'S EYES placed Second in a Classic Country Songwriting contest, and A COWBOY FOR CHRISTMAS placed Third for Holiday songs.
I was the 2nd Place Winner at Merlefest in the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest, hosted by Jim Lauderdale. My song ALWAYS ROOM IN HIS HEART received praise from judges and audience alike. I was one of 12 finalists from over 900 entries to perform at the prestigious 2004 Merlefest competition.
