Why do you write songs?
After over 20 years as a professional musician, I found myself away from the scene. But music has always been a deep part of me, and feel I've been led back to a much more consistent level of musicianship through songwriting. Of course, I feel like I'm starting all over again. However, since I can write and record at home, I am able keep working at growing musically while developing songwriting skills. I hope my songs are written and shared with a heart that conveys my love of music and a heart for God and his goodness. I know not everyone will like what I write, but I hope those that do enjoy something they hear on this site know I am glad they do.
Who are your main influences?
Another tough question. It all started for me with the Beatles. I wore out 45's in the early 60's and now I listen to just about anything I can get my hands on. There are so many wonderful artists and writers, I just hope I can find my own style and convey what I am passionate about through song.
