Why do you write songs?
I use to write just for the sake of being able to say I had another one finished. I couldn't wait to have fifty songs under my belt, then a hundred songs etc...This was not conducive to good writing...there were no second drafts in that frame of mind. These days, I write fewer but better songs...they have to say something that moves me (and hopefully others). It's a learning process and a maturing process I believe.
Who are your main influences?
The Hollies were my first influence. I would take their melodies and put my own words to them...the songs were always about how stupid my younger brother was...lol...but hey that's what got me started.
