Why do you write songs?
Because I cannot help it. The best analogy to songwriting I can think of is childbirth, though I will never experience that literally.
Who are your main influences?
My family (especially dad and older brother); Indian pop, film, RD Burman, Salil Chaudhury, classical music; Rabindranath Tagore and Nazrul Islam; world music in general; many of the modern pop/rock acts of the US, Canada, UK and Australia; etc.
