CLASSICAL/POP. This is a new ongoing project from Al Dickinson, a European-based publishing company (see Pitch #363 for details). Looking for classical/pop material which means light classical material with a pop/rock feel in the style of Il Divo and Josh Groban. Any songs with international appeal. Tempo can be anything from ballads to medium pace to uptempo. Musically, plenty of RANGE for big vocalists. Lyrics can be in English/Spanish/Italian/French/Portuguese/Greek/ German. Placements will encompass commercial cuts as well as TV/Film/Media in an INTERNATIONAL (world) market. Important: If the song is placed in film/TV, you must own the material, master recording and publishing AND you must be clear of obligations from other talent that may be performing on your track. In other words, you must get signed clearances from all musicians and vocalists who perform on your demo. SU MEMBERS: Please ONLY submit songs if you are open to signing your publishing according to the criteria above. See Pitch #363 for SMD publising contract details.

This is a request for a songwriter or writers to write both a school Alma Mater song and a School Spirit Song for Pendergrass Fairwold, a small self-contained school in South Carolina (http://fairwold.richlandone.org/home/). All 80 students are disabled with functional levels ranging from profound to educable, and/or with autism, emotional problems, and developmental delays. This is a project that is part of our 5-year school improvement plan. Unfortunately we have no money for this project. The writer(s) would of course get full credit for the lyrics and music. Fairwold would need full use of the lyrics and music but we could work some kind of partnership out if that kind of thing is possible. If you are inspired to write something, you can submit it here to the SongU.com listening page. Or, if you'd like more information you can contact David Keisler, teacher, at dkeisler@richlandone.org, tel: 803-735-3435 ext 304
