YOU GOT ME THERE
You Got Me There
Verse:
We started out childhood friends
Flyin’ kites, jumpin’ Dawson’s fence
Lately, things are changin’
Our first kiss was the proof
Then you said, “I bet you feel it too"
Chorus:
You got me there
Right in the middle
Deep down not
Just a little but a lot
In that part of my heart
That loves you, I swear
Oooo, oooo, oooo, you got me there
Verse:
Once again you’re tanglin’ up
All my thoughts with your gentle touch
You tell me that I’m wantin’
Your arms around me tight
You wink and say you see it in my eyes
Chorus
Bridge:
I said tell it to me straight you don’t wanna let me go
You grab your heart and say girl don’t you know
Chorus

WHEN YOU’VE BEEN WRONGED
When You’ve Been Wronged
Verse:
He said he loved me, I bought it
Compliments and kisses wouldn’t quit
He moved on to blonder pastures, in a couple months
Like a dead end road, that was the end of us
Now I’m sittin’ at Mike’s Karaoke Bar
Sippin’ wild turkey…Hey Mike, let’s start!
Chorus:
The best place for gettin’ right
When you’ve been wronged
Is Mike’s Karaoke bar
Where you can belt out goodbye songs
Like “I Hate Myself for Lovin’ You”
Your friends can help you sing the blues
The best place is Mike’s for getting’ right
When you’ve been wronged
Verse:
I’m not lookin’ for answers
Not throwin’ any blame ‘bout how things were
This is where my movin’ on begins
Just read the sign, no slow song after 10
It’s been hard on me but I’ve got no regrets
One night here makes him easy to forget
Repeat Chorus
Bridge:
One day he’s gonna see
Like Ronnie said…there ain’t no getting’ over me
Final Chorus:
The best place for getting’ right
When you’ve been wronged
Is Mike’s Karaoke bar
Where you can belt out goodbye songs
Like “I’ve Got Better Things to Do”
Your friends can sing along with you
The best place is Mike’s for getting’ right
When you’ve been wronged

CROSSING JEFFERSON
CROSSING JEFFERSON
Verse:
She straps her kids into her rusted Cherokee
Feels an achin’ in her soul, her hand fumbles for the keys
Tears start fallin’, she can’t hold ‘em back
The kids understand, they don’t even ask
Wearin’ sun glasses in the dark
She heads past McGee and Grand towards Southwest Boulevard
Chorus:
She crosses Walnut, then Main
‘Bout Broadway she gets to thinkin’ maybe her man will change
He says he loves her, besides she’s got no place to go
At Jefferson she turns around and drives back home
Verse:
Two weeks go by, he’s passed out on the couch
She crawls to get her kids, wipes the blood from her mouth
The fear in their eyes, scares her half to death
They’re leavin’ with nothin’, while they still have somethin’ left
She always blamed herself before
Well, that guilt trip she was takin’, she ain’t takin’ no more
2nd Chorus:
She crosses Walnut then Main
‘Bout Broadway she gets to thinkin’ maybe he’ll change
He says he loves her, besides she’s got no place to go
At Jefferson for a moment she goes slow
Bridge:
She presses on the gas, heads for somewhere new
Whispers to herself, it’s what I have to do
3rd Chorus:
Tired of coverin’ up the pain
Made up her mind that man ain’t ever gonna change
She knows she’s not in this alone,
She’ll find someplace to go
She wonders what the future holds
Crosses Jefferson and keeps drivin’ down the road

RADIO TALK
Radio Talk
I was hoping to escape for a little while
So, I turned on the radio and spun the dial
I was hoping for some music, maybe rock and roll
Some classic oldies or some Motown® soul
Well, you can just imagine my frustration
As I kept on changing from station to station
Just radio talk, radio talk, radio talk, radio talk,
Radio…talk
It’s a soapbox on the air where you have your say
They’re not worried, ‘cause you’re on a seven-second delay
Religion, sex and politics, futures and stocks
You get the opportunity to hear yourself talk
No more music on the air, just talk show clones
Dialing one-eight-hundred-something on their cellular phones
Just radio talk, radio talk, radio talk, radio talk,
Radio…talk
They’ve got solutions for the country’s economic woes
And they’ll gladly tell the opposition where to go
It’s a production in the guise of the freedom of speech
To patronize all the listeners the network can reach
Millions and millions across the nation
Will be tuning in again, same time, same station
Radio talk, radio talk, radio talk, radio talk,
Radio…talk

JUST BECAUSE
Just Because
Writers: Gary McKnight/Gerry Monks
A1:
I call you, late in the evening,
Without any reason, don’t think I need to,
I do it, Just Because.
A2:
Long lunch breaks, we meet at a café,
I know what your friends say, they whisper and wonder,
I do it, Just Because.
B1:
Just Because, you do cross my mind,
10,000 times every day,
Just Because, I think it’s so fine,
You wink and you smile in that way.
A3:
You might think, I’m yours for the taking,
It’s just time that I’m making,
Don’t think I need you, I do it, Just Because.
B2:
Just Because, It's not like I planned,
My words become a cliché,
Just Because, one touch of your hand,
The rest of the world goes away.
A4:
I love you, yes I just said it,
And I do not regret it, for so many reasons,
And not Just Because.
