Why do you write songs?
I’m like most writers; it’s just a part of me, as essential as eating and breathing.
Who are your main influences?
This one is hard to narrow down to a manageable size. I’ve been influenced by so many different musicians and writers from diverse styles. The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, James Jamerson, John Entwhistle, Carol Kay, Eric Clapton (in any band or solo), Mountain, The Eagles, The Beach Boys, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Townes VanZandt, Nanci Griffith, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Peter, Paul & Mary, Kingston Trio, the artist and musicians on Sun, Mowtown and Stax labels, Yes, John Phillip Sousa, Gustav Holst, Al DeMeola, Santana, Pat Alger, Scott Joplin, Aaron Copeland, ELP… The list just keeps going and going and going.
