Course Description
Before you enter the studio to begin recording your album project, there are
several steps you need to complete. This course, the first in this series,
provides a detailed overview of the tasks you need to complete before you enter
the studio to begin recording your album project. This course demonstrates how
spending a little extra time and effort in the pre-production phase will help
you save time, money, and a lot of aggravation in the rest of your project
cycle. Topics include: setting your purpose and goals, setting a budget, funding
your project, selecting a producer, choosing songs, musicians and a studio, and
scheduling your sessions.

Estimated Time
This course consists of five lessons each of which takes approximately fifteen
to thirty minutes minutes to complete. To obtain the greatest benefit, we suggest that you leave
enough time after finishing each lesson to do all the exercises and fully absorb the material
before beginning the next lesson.
Pre-Requisite Knowledge
This course assumes that you are considering making a CD that you wish to sell to your
audiences and generally release publicly to the world. No pre-requisite knowledge is necessary. You
may be considering your first project, or wishing to improve on your next one.
