Course Description
Based on the best selling book by SongU.com faculty
emeritus Sheila Davis, Successful
Lyric Writing: A Step-By-Step Course and Workbook, you will continue to
build on the knowledge gained in the first part of this course. Guided by a SongU.com instructor in our
e-Classroom, you will learn the principles and techniques covered in the second part of this book while incorporating a group dynamic. Through discussion,
individual exercises and feedback, you will be guided toward improving your
lyrical craft.
Course Content
Topics to be covered include: principles of rhythm and
rhyme, finding your voice, using figurative language and practicing writing
complete lyrics.
Students who register for this course will be given assignments based on
specific topics in the book.
Course Offerings:
This is a 4-week class. Each class meeting lasts for 75 minutes.
