In this master class in lyric writing, you will study several advanced lyrical devices designed to add more polish and craft to your songs. Hit songwriter, Craig Bickhardt teaches you how to handle the various components of good story song writing. Discover how to get the most impact out of your story songs in this detailed discussion of the elements of plot and character development. Hit song examples from all genres of music will be used to illustrate the topics covered.

Course Content
Topics to be covered include: Perspective, Action, Conflict, and Resolution. Craig will demonstrate Character Development by both the Indirect and Direct Characterization Methods. You’ll study Static and Dynamic Characters, Flat and Round Characters, Sympathetic Characters and Character Transformation. You’ll examine Anecdote, Symbolism, Magical Realism and Allegory in the lyrics of popular songs, and discover how to get the most impact out of your story songs with Compressed Pace. Hit song examples from all genres of music will be used to illustrate the topics covered.
