Course Description
In this master class in lyric writing, you will study several advanced lyrical devices designed to add more polish and craft to your songs. Practical examples from hit songs in different genres as well as lyric writing assignments will help guide you toward a higher level of lyric writing.

Course Content
Topics to be covered include: the use of metaphor, simile, allusion, personification as well as symbolism as applied to songwriting. Hit song examples from all genres of music will be used to illustrate the topics covered.
